I'm a little surprised that I'm the only one who felt this way about the pipe organ. Well, I do remember my friend mentioning it to me when I was a deacon, so I have at least one other person.

Phallic stage is the third stage of psychosexual development, spanning the ages of three to six years, wherein the infant’s libido (desire) centers upon his or her genitalia as the erogenous zone.
Alter Idem, have you had no desires since age 6 that center around your genitalia as the erogenous zone?

"Polished" and "fleshed out"? Were those intentional references to the phallic symbol of the OP? I wonder what the agenda is I'm hiding. Maybe you can enlighten me because I'm not aware of a hidden agenda. I recognize that you are associating me with someone you've encountered in the past even though I have assured you repeatedly that I am not that person. Believe what you want. If you act like a jerk I will call you out on it.

Moving beyond the phallic stage is called death. We are sexual beings.
Being 'stuck' in the Phallic stage is not considered desirable. The Genital stage is the last, which most people move into at Puberty.

Yes, the Genital stage, Different from the Phallic stage. You'd have to read Freud to understand the differences.
Normally, I wouldn't comment on a thread about 'phalluses', but since it was such a good example of Freud's theory, I couldn't resist.

Uh...
Where did the idea of libido come from? Have I mentioned libido anywhere? I mentioned a reminder, which is not the same thing.

Nice job, Alter Idem!
Sock, Freud saw Eros and Thanatos as deeply entwined, although seemingly in opposition. "Beyond the Pleasure Principle" is where he first starts to work some of these ideas out, but he is not suggesting that "beyond" pleasure lies death, though perhaps the title might suggest that to some readers.

Some things remind me of He-man as well. I suppose I have a He-man fixation. Shrug.

Alter Idem's application of Freud's phallic stage suggested that after age 6 people do not see phallic similarities in other objects, unless stuck in the Freud's phallic stage. That's not what Freud was getting at.
Alter Idem's application suggests also that after age 6, one's desires do not center around their genitals. Again, a misapplication of Freud's analytical structure.
