Maybe it's just me, but it seems a little strange for you to be criticizing someone for wanting to keep their anonymity.

I think you are right. I have held back because of several PMs telling me not to kick DCP when he is down.
I think if I can present my travelogue in such a way as to not offend, I will post it this week.

Well, if he does remove clues to his in real life identity, he will simply be making use of a right to anonymity on this board that several of us prize. I don't think that Pahoran likes to have his real life identity mentioned here either, does he? No doubt he has his reasons, but in any case that's his decision. Same goes for Everybody Wang Chung.
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

He will also be removing possible controls on his story and enlarging his ability to embellish and fabricate.
But if his claim to be a serving bishop were true, then his reasons for wanting to maintain his anonymity would be less than innocent. In fact, they would be completely unethical.

Yup. But same goes for pretty well all of us anonymites, including Pahoran, when we make claims about matters of fact. Anonymity can of course also free people to speak the truth. All of us, including Pahoran, must make our own judgements as to whom we find credible.

I am afraid that I do not share with Pahoran the belief that bishops of the CoJCoLDS are likely to behave more ethically, intelligently and perceptively than anyone else.

Since you are not a member of the LDS Church, I understand your perception. However, I think what Pahoran was pointing out is that those who are called to be Bishop should do their best to behave more ethically and perceptively than anyone else. There is also a certain amount of intelligence that one must possess in order to do well in the calling.

I don't have a problem with Everybody Wang Chung's ethics or morals. True, he lost his temper with Ray, but he apologized. Other than that I'm not sure why anyone would make an effort to go after a serving bishop. What purpose would it serve?
