BYU proves Mormonism makes you fat...

The LDS health code also promotes healthy behaviors — eating fruits, vegetables and grains and limiting meat — but fewer members follow that advice, according to another study by LDS Church-owned BYU.

Maybe they should. Mormons are heavier than those outside their faith, according to a separate BYU study.

From my own anecdotal observations, it seems Mormon youth and young adults are skinnier and healthier than average, but once they get married and start having kids, they let themselves go. I think most people let themselves go once they settle down and have kids. Since Mormons tend to marry at a younger age, perhaps that skews the numbers.

Since I'm a pescetarian and the alcohol I occasionally drink is usually grain-based (D&C 89:17), I like to tease my husband that I keep the Word of Wisdom better than he does.

Aww, I was hoping they'd show the science in support of tobacco's healing properties on bruises and sick cattle -- I don't think I've ever had a look at it before.
