This debate is driving me nuts.

So Romney lied about that, but "won" the debate because Obama didn't press him further and moved along as asked by the mod.

To me that isn't how debates are won, by getting away with a marathon of lies. It will alll come back to haunt him as usual.

The first 2004 debate helped Kerry significantly. It pulled him from being down a solid, if modest amount to being slightly behind. That change in dynamic stayed until the end. He very nearly won after that. In fact, if Kerry was down in numbers comparable to Romney and got the same bump, he would've won.

Obviously there is A LOT more debating, running, spinning, fact checking, etc. to come and I surely do not suggest that Romney will win (As a matter of fact, I have long thought, for several reasons, that Romney faces a long and tough road to be elected) BUT, if we look at this debate (and make no mistake - it was clearly a debate we were watching), Romney crushed Obama on this debate, on this night. Period!

When Obama made that reference to "people like me" regarding those who couldn't afford college, Romney should have noted that privilege is privilege, oil is oil, and banks are banks, whether in the USA or Malaysia.......

I'm glad he did. I tend to avoid watching or listening to debates because it just angries up the blood knowing that I could have given a better and more devastating answer than my candidate.

It was far better than Obama's term. Obama has racked up more debt in four years than Bush did with eight. Not that I blame a president or give him credit for the economy (just helping it or exacerbating it), but Bush had seven out eight years of a relatively good economy. Bush's tax cuts actually worked to stimulate the economy. Republicans own the success of the last two decades, the 90's being the contract with America decade that restrained the Clinton liberals into balancing the budget. All while fighting "two" wars. Etc. Etc.

This debate reminded me of Kevin Graham's domination of Wade over the KEP.

Romney = Graham
Obama = Wade
