Re: The Best Faces Of Mormonism In Your Opinion
It's hard to choose because Mormonism has two faces...
“We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.”
Keith McMullin - Counsellor in Presiding Bishopric
"One, two, three...let's go shopping!"
Thomas S Monson - Prophet, Seer, Revelator

Re: The Best Faces Of Mormonism In Your Opinion
My father, who has the most integrity of any man I know, and who complements that integrity with compassion and a lack of judgmentalism.
My mission president, who taught me how to genuinely love those you serve and serve with.
A branch president I knew on my mission who was as dedicated and faithful as anyone I know, but was perhaps the humblest person I have ever met.
My stake president, who has been nothing but kind since I opened up to him about my doubts. Unlike the Pahorans and bcspaces of the world, he acknowledges that there are serious problems with the church's truth claims, but he believes because of his testimony. That's something I can respect and honor.
My family, who love me as much as they did when I was a believer and who treat me with the same kindness and respect they always have.
Online? I'd have to agree with the ones you've cited: David B., Ben McGuire, Kevin Barney. Brant Gardner, Brian Hales, Brian Hauglid, Blair Hodges (I heard he used to be kind of a strident partisan), Tim Tribe (who I've met through a mutual friend). I could go on and on. (I'm not counting NOMs, or the list would be much longer.)
I could mention the worst, but we all know who they are.

I am honored to be included on that list, sethpayne, unworthy though I may be.
In my view your name better belongs in such brilliant and classy company.
Still, thank you. As Blixa said, you made my day.

For me, the best two faces of Mormonism are part of its past:
Hugh B Brown
David O McKay

Agreed, and I would also add B.H. Roberts.

What a First Presidency that would make.
Excellent choices.

Bunch of hero, Internet-board personality worship going on in this thread.
Might as well have penned the lyrics to "Praise to the Man" and inserted your "best faces" choices in lieu of the Joseph Smith references.
The best face in Mormonism is myself, because I'm out of it.
<snicker, heheh>
