Argentina claims to have inherited possession of the Falkland Islands from Spain, which obtained them by right of conquest...though I'm sure the Royal Marines would very strenuously disagree. But at any rate, when did modern nations cease to recognize claims upon territories won by right of conquest? Or are they still recognized?
