The data shows that, on average, for every dollar a Utah man makes his female counterpart makes 55 cents. It's a huge gap, but at least one expert says most of that 45-cent difference is by choice.

Susan Madsen, director of the Utah Women and Education Initiative, told KSL News Utah's the choice in wage begins as early as college.

It's also impossible to compare companies and say well, this woman in this company makes such and such and this woman and that company makes such and such and rationally conclude there is a disparity. Within a company one can compare same or similar positions, but then one has to account not only for work required, but actual production as well. For example, a man in the same position may currently be out producing a woman. The reverse can happen obviously but one certainly wouldn't conclude the man is being discriminated against.

That's why the more broad based the data from which the conclusion is drawn, the more reliable that conclusion. This is not simply comparing one type of position in one company. The data is state-wide, and then comparing women's earnings from state to state. Women in Utah earn less than in any other state. Utah is where LDS is the strongest. Capice?

Let's be honest, women are more unreliable as employee's than men are...

Men don't go off for a year to have a baby.
Men don't get all sharp and irritable every four weeks or so.
Men aren't prone to suing you if you say their bum looks nice.
Men don't have to be home early to make the dinner.
Men have the Priesthood authority and so are more likely to make good decisions.
Men don't have to cover their faces when praying.
Men can pee standing up and so don't need 100% cubicle style toilets.
Men don't need lengthy lunch breaks for chatting or hair appointments.
Men already have all the rights and so don't need to march; canvas; rally; petition or whinge.
Men don't have 'wardrobe malfunctions' and so spend more time actually working.
When men talk they reach a decision rather than just feel better.

Women are looking at your bum, but are too polite to say what they are thinking (fatty).

Men don't have to be home early to make the dinner.
Women know how to multitask better, and are cooking your dinner, listening to you whine about your hard day at work, taking care of the children, and planning tomorrow's 8AM meeting...all while you're wondering why it is that lunch that day has given you gas.
Men have the Priesthood authority and so are more likely to make good decisions.
Women are confident in their own abilities.

Maybe they should.

Men don't need lengthy lunch breaks since they already spent the first two hours of work, porn surfing, while their female secretary prepared everything they need for the afternoon, at a 1/3 the wage.
Men already have all the rights and so don't need to march; canvas; rally; petition or whinge.
