Well ya gotta admit, God goofed on this one. He was probably so horrified at the torture techniques that his child taught his other children to practice on yet his OTHER children that he closed his eyes, and therefore didn't know that Jessen was called to serve. See? Even God is no longer Omnipotent or Omniscient.....whew!

Wow. What a PR disaster.

So does anyone know what happened exactly? The only logical explanation that makes sense to me is stake presidency submitted his name for bishop without including that nice information, FP approved it, when they found out his history and how much negative publicity this was getting they asked that he be released and it's officially done that sunday.

I expect if he asked for a release himself he'd have given some sort of explanation. Church headquarters would not.

As Mormon Studies expert Professor Patrick Mason has told RD, Mormonism has “no systematic theology” on issues like human rights or poverty or war. Its view of morality is “highly individualized.”

Thus proving that Patrick Mason is no expert.

Indeed, when personal revelation can tell a person to murder, no one ought to mistake that for an individual ethic. It is divine. And we know that, because the murderer told us he had a revelation.

I am so glad to hear this news.

One who can justify the the orchestration and systematic inflictment of human suffering is not suited to act as a pastor who's calling is to comfort and heal.

Well no. It's because he erroneously claims there is no "systematic theology" on "issues like human rights or poverty or war".

You obviously don't know what the term "systematic theology" means to most people who use it in the established, technical sense.
