Then you better discuss that distinction with Shades because he was the one who decided that Mods could "speak as a man" when not in Mod mode. And Shades is as "ex-Mormon" as you get.

That you thought was a registered poster of this board. Come on, Liz.

Your "Secret" relationship with DCP? Yeah, that's it.
Why I removed you as Mod from my board? Exactly that. I no longer could trust you with personal information.
You have too much knowledge about about too many private things. And sharing them with that idiot DCP? Sorry. It changes the game.
No wonder all this crap is down with you.
Play sides, get burned.
I have no "secret" relationship with DCP. I have always been very open about my friendship with him. I never betrayed any confidences with you, Infy...not to DCP...not to anyone. You deleted my Mod status without even talking to me about it, and it was based solely on who I chose to be friends with. I am friends with a lot of different people. Just because I am friends with DCP doesn't mean I agree with everything he says or does. It's too bad you didn't at least have the balls to talk to me about it, but whatever. That one was your loss.

I did resign. And this is not a stage for a comeback. This is simply laying things out because I am sick and tired of everyone maligning me and accusing me of things I haven't done.
I simply wanted to lay out exactly what I am willing to take responsibility for. The End.
First off: not everyone wants to see you "unModded". Several posters have (If I recall correctly) said otherwise, and likely the silent majority do not feel that unModding would be necessary or just.
Secondly: If I may play devil's advocate, one difference between the effects of the two quoted passages is that while Scratch's post is undoubtedly nasty (akin to taunting Droopy about drinking), your post is not overtly nasty, but is seen by some, in retrospect, as potentially improving someone's chances of identifying Scratch.
for what it's worth, I guess I fall somewhere in the middle: I think that your post was unfortunate in the possible effect I mentioned above, but I don't feel that it is a hanging matter.
I like you as a mod, and I'm sure that I would like you as a person, if we were to meet in real life.
If it ever comes to a vote (I don't know if Shades would do it that way) you can count on me. Nothing to do with how I feel about Scratch, Chino Blanco, Pahoran, DCP or anyone else - just how I feel about you.
Thanks, Malkie. I appreciate that.
And thank you for being the only poster here to acknowlege the nastiness of Scratch's initial post.

Well, I can certainly see Mr. Peterson's influence rubbing off on you... Thought you were a little more even keel than this. I, for one, thought you were a good mod until seeing what you did to out Dr. Scratch knowing what your friends would do to him. That hurt your ability to maintain moderator status because it eroded trust.
I think if you sincerely apologized to Dr. Scratch, publicly, and promised not to resort to that kind of behavior again, I'd love to see you be a moderator once again for MD.

EVERYONE??? Oh, come, now, Liz. I don't know all the circumstances, I don't know what was going on at the other board, I refuse to judge.
All I know is that anonymity on the board is what allows it to be a place of free speech, and that must be protected.
Giving the anxieties of the upcoming election, it is almost expected that there would be blow-ups at a place like this. Caution to avoid such incidents in such a time is a given-- on the part of all.

What difference does it make? You've resigned.

Resigned? So what? Shades can appoint anyone, including someone who once resigned (it's kinda like getting rebaptised...)

Personally, I've found your moderation fair. I think when one accepts the role of moderator one needs to be above contention at all times. Like a good and faithful magistrate, never to show bias or even to be perceived as showing bias. How else can a moderator be accepted as a fair judge?
I know that among other boards this isn't often the rule, but I think it would be the best rule to follow for an honest board.
Liz, I don't really know if you transgressed rules in this recent debacle, but I think that your comments did express a bias on your part. You most definitely have a right to your views and opinions. I'm not sure it's very wise to express them here when you are charged with moderating.
I think if anyone wishes to side with one person or another or promote a particular point of view, it might be best to address those as just a board member and not as a moderator.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.
