Thank you, Morley, for demonstrating that Toronto's accusation is baseless.

Because if you read what I wrote, you'll discover that I did not castigate Twede for using a posting handle, which is a common internet practice, but for operating clandestinely, pretending to be an oh-so faithful Latter-day Saint when in fact he was a diligently proselytizing apostate.

I have one other question for Scratch...and for anyone else here to contemplate.

Since you and everyone else has claimed vehemently that you and Chino Blanco are not the same person, which made my comment basically worthless, why did you feel the need to make such a vile retort as this?

It may have something to do with his acrimonious divorce from his first wife, and the subsequent fallout from all of that.

Yes, there are many reasons why anonymity would be important to a poster. Working on political campaigns, such as Democrats Abroad Taiwan, for example.

Or because they don't want their DH with massive heart troubles to learn that they were engaged in cyber-adultery with The Nehor.

And ladies and gentlemen, this is the reason I think it is best for me to step down as a Moderator.

My skin is just not thick enough for this.

It is obvious to me that Scratch's attitudes and actions are the ones that are predominantly revered here.

Do I think that DCP has been an angel in the world of apologetics? No. I honestly do not.

But what Scratch has done is, in my opinion, way over the top. And, he is so intent in his campaign against DCP, that he will take a viperous tongue to anyone who dares to attempt to get in his way.

I want no part of an administrative staff of a board which stands firmly behind this type of behavior.

I have made a lot of friends here, and I wish you all the best.

I will check in from time to time, mainly to correspond with folks privately.

In post earlier in this thread referring to a post by me, Pahoran seems to want to lead us into a discussion of the propriety of Dr Scratch having made what appears to have been intended as a mocking reference to Pahoran's marital history.

In so far as Pahoran's post relates to Dr. Scratch alone, it would appear to be off the topic for this thread. But let me say all the same that I thought Dr. Scratch's post was not very nice, even if LDSToronto is right in arguing that it was not a breach of Universal Rule 7 by reason of prior disclosure.

But even if LDSToronto is wrong, and Universal Rule 7 had been broken by Scratch, the proper course for a moderator to take would surely have been to delete the reference, and either warn Scratch or impose a sanction on him. No way was it proper for Liz to take the course of in effect attempting to out Dr. Scratch's in real life identity as part of a campaign against him by her declared friends Pahoran and Daniel Peterson. But that is what her post amounted to, even if her attempt hit the wrong target. A mod who gets involved in that kind of thing can, I submit, no longer claim the degree of trust in her impartiality needed to sustain her role.
