I still think Liz is someone we hope to continue to see on this board. She adds something very distinctive and interesting, and I don't come here in the hope of hearing my own opinions echoed back at me. (And guess what! I rarely have that problem ...)
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
I was under the impression that Pahoran had mentioned his divorce on MDB previously. Therefore, it would not have been against the rules for Scratch to mention it, but basically a very low thing to do. In hindsight, what I should have done in that case was to move that particular post to the Telestial Forum, since it was a personal attack. And, my personal attack (if it is viewed as such) could have been housed in Telestial as well.
Oh, well...water under the bridge. I am no longer a Mod.
What you should have done is moved Dr. Scratch's comment to Telestial and not responded.
But, look, I think everyone gets that being a good moderator is hard. It's especially hard in a polarized forum like this one, where personal grudges date from the internet cretaceous period. So, any moderator is going to screw up. It happens.
You screwed up by posting information that could lead to the identification of an anonymous poster.
What you should have done when the screw up was pointed out to you was to (1) admit you screwed up; (2) apologized; and (3) cleaned up your mess.
I'm not that bothered by the original screw up. I'm very bothered by the failure to own the screw up, your blaming the screw up on anyone but yourself, and the failure to recognize that, as a moderator, you had certain responsibilities to the folks here that you couldn't just discard because you were posting "as a man."
Yeah, this.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that she should stop posting. I agree with your description of her posts.

I think he should.
Stop all this nonsense. Invite Liz back to be moderator. Permit Scratch to be the conspiracy maven that he is.
And this, especially the bolded.
