Point 1 I was given the next day to experience the answer about anger. I suddenly liked myself.........?
There is a CD in my car that has me singing nine or ten songs accompanied by me on guitar. Usually I hate listening to myself sing. When I played it the other day I liked hearing myself. How strange?
Point 2 I had recently been offended by co-workers and stopped for a while being friendly. But after a weekend off I was back to being fully friendly and my normal cheery self engaging them with much humor and charm. (They are both female)
Point 3 of course hate and anger go hand in hand. It figures that you must be hating something to be angry.
Point 4 if God forgives you it must be possible to forgive yourself.
Point 5 if you want to be amusing to others you must amuse yourself.....think of how Leno, Letterman, and Obrien so much amuse themselves. If you want others to take you seriously then you must take yourself seriously, think of Mr Stak, Kishkumen, Blixa, and Dr Scratch. If you want other people to like you then you must like yourself and show it.
The demonstration of self like or self esteem or self love is charisma. If you can so easily forgive those who offend you why should it be so difficult and impossible and year after year with no end in sight to your not liking yourself and letting go of the hate and self loathing which is the foundation for all anger.
Like most people I have a truck load of failures that can bear down upon my soul making me resent myself. Those things really matter and failure was not an option. The burden is never removed and so how do we get over it and forgive and allow us to live with ourselves joyfully?
No offense from without has the power to change us. Only that offense from within dampens us and entangles us in fear and hate and anger. Even though we transfer our hate and anger upon others who get in our way and slightly offend or even seriously hurt us it is a ruse to keep us from the truth.
This I have not long understood. Like I said it was given to me for a day and I reverted back to the old me the next day. But I came up for some fresh air and damned if I will not live in it bye and bye.
You can tell me that this is well understood by clinicians.......but they did not tell me.
