Obama's Revenge: PA, OH top the sufferer's list

Post by _bcspace »

Some of the new claims, especially in New Jersey, were due to Hurricane Sandy--but these were offset by a decline in claims filed in New York. The highest numbers of new filings came from Pennsylvania and Ohio, where there were thousands of layoffs in the construction, manufacturing, and automobile industries.

Both states had been targeted by the presidential campaigns. President Obama highlighted his record of job creation in Ohio in particular, focusing on the automobile industry. The state reported 6,450 new jobless claims in the week after the election--second-highest after Pennsylvania, which recorded 7,766 new claims.

That's the nature of "one night stands," isn't it?

Keep in mind bc, "Bob" (Darth, Kishkumen, Bluffalo, or whoever he actually is), is a "conservative."

He's just the steadier of the conservative arc, just has so many liberal Mormons are steadiers of the Church and the Brethren.

Funny how these kinds of people tend to congregate around here.

I have opinions, and they happen not to coincide with your extreme beliefs. So what? That does not make me a liberal or fake conservative, or a steadier of the ark. You are not the determiner of who is a "real" conservative or not.

List some of these as examples, please.

You are not the determiner of who is a "real" conservative or not.

No, not by myself, but there is a long and well established intellectual tradition and patrimony, of which I am a part, that does, along a broad front, determine what is authentic and what is outside the pall of the conservative intellectual sphere.

Since you have so far been unable to come up with a single example of my alleged liberalism, I reserve my right to my place within the conservative tradition to which I belong.

I'm not plumbing the archives. Next time you put your foot in your mouth and expose yourself, I'll point it out.

Steadiers of the Ark, eh? I like the imagery of the folks on the MD&D board being like the little Dutch boy, holding back one leak at a time.

No, he clearly said "arc," so it has to be related to a curved line segment. Perhaps an arc can be straightened if "steadied," in much the same way good Christian folks can pray away the gay.
