What is so difficult about clicking on a link?
I agree that it's not a big deal to click on a link.
I rarely take the time to follow his picture links.

Please look at the "Re: Men's (Nightmare) Plan of Salvation: A Fable" thread, Zeezrom's comment : viewtopic.php?p=656879#p656879
There are nine pictures, with an one-line invocation, then the title and the painter.

It can be scrolled, and watched as a continuous procession.

Then, after You enjoyed Zeez's composition, watch the same, according to my potential:
the version I wrote:Love this topic.

- You should open 9 more tab in the browser, then close them
- when You look at the picture, its introductive text is not visible, nor the title/artist - the three part of the item are disbanded
- the random characters of the links disturb the reading
- instead of procession, You see a fragmented tohu Washington bohu

As a result, nobody will read the comment as a whole.

But I have the pictures...
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

Not a perfect answer, maybe, but I just discovered an extension for Chrome called "Hover Zoom". Ludwig's images now appear in a pop-up when I put the cursor on his img links.

His cartoons have depicted not just nudity but also rape and decapitation. If anyone else gets into that habit, then his or her posts should require a click to view, too.

Ludwigm has lived most of his life as an officer of an army that was a satellite for the old Soviet Union. No wonder that he has a little disrespect for authority. I think that should be taken into consideration.

I did take it into consideration. That's why his images require a click to view.

Ludwigm's offensive posts are all cartoons with only a smattering of sexual content.

It's the smattering of sexual content that resulted in his images requiring a click to view.

Nothing that would not be allowed on any cable network in the US.

I disagree. No channel on my basic cable suite shows it, for example.

Ludwigm is funny, clever and nothing that he has posted rises to the level of pornography.

If you say so.

No employer of anyone reading his posts could be offended.

So you're the final arbiter of what all employers do or don't find offensive? That's impressive! How did you acquire such knowledge?

LDSToronto wrote:Who cares if people see NSFW images at work?

I do.

When did that become the responsibility of this forum?

I want people to be 100% comfortable visiting MormonDiscussions.com from anywhere, at any time. . . whether at home with kids in the background, on an airplane next to strangers, or, yes, even at work.

Cartoons are like jokes and caricatures. They describe the world around us as something to laugh. The only way we can outlive our mad world.

Decapitation?
As I wrote somewhere:

I have disrespect for any authority - only the one based on real knowledge - without qualification.
Please don't take it into consideration.

Decapitation. New motivation against me after genitals and breasts.

I can keep myself on the road (for five minutes):

I think that if I was the administrator of this board, I might well decide with Shades on this one.

Anyone who wants to can see Ludwig's images can do so with a single click. But they are not automatically in the face of people who might not be comfortable with seeing them unexpectedly, and who may not be aware of the risks they run by opening one of Ludwig's posts in a situation where others may be watching.

In different cases:
- the picture can be [deleted] as a whole ( even with the link, so the readers know nothing about the source of the picture, and who did censor it)
- the [img] token may be deleted, so the picture become a link, available by one click, for brave readers
- the link itself can be marked as "warning: NSFW"
- and, last but not least, all of ludwigm's pictures should be banned by default

Shades has to run this board, and he seems to make reasonable decisions most of the time (though I do not agree with all of them).

I see no signs that he had any particular reason to have gone after you, except that he tried to get you not to post certain kinds of images on the board, and you effectively refused to stop. Neither Shades not the other moderators can be on watch all the time, so the course most economical of time and effort was to limit you to posting links. Apart from that you can do pretty well all that the rest of us can do.

And Shades is not obliged to do the same to anyone else who tries the "I am Spartacus" ploy either.
