Do DCP actions seem similar with those who became apostate?
Watching and reading DCP rants, finger pointing and complete lack of accepting personal responsibility, makes me wonder how his actions are very close in line with what I believe are the actions that turn one apostate.
Is there a "profile" of apostates?
If not, in my limited experience I offer the following:
1. Pet gospel themed doctrine/project.
2. Considers self to be the expert of the pet.
3. Takes offense from superior or Priesthood leader concerning the pet.
4. Blames the superior or Priesthood for the offence.
5. Exhaustingly proclaims martyrdom regarding the offence and pet.
6. Ridicules the alleged offender.
7. Storms off knashing teeth.
8. Undieing bitterness toward the alleged offender.

That is one route to apostasy, sure. Just as there are many others.
But DCP has been pretty resilient against the other routes that have snared many TBM's into apostasy. Such as looking at the historical record of Mormonism's founding.

That wasn't my route to apostasy, but I do think DCP illustrates quite nicely that lingering resentment towards one's former institution is not a product of Satan grabbing hold of one's heart. It's just a natural response to feeling betrayed or lied to. Ex-Mormons have been trying to explain this to him and other Mormons for years.

That he is bitter? That he can't leave it alone? That he is now attacking those he once obeyed/admired? That he is now blogging about how wrong they were, the wrong direction they were going and the issues he was having? That he can't just get on with his life?
Yeah, he's just a bitter apostate.
Yeah, he's just a bitter apostate.

Yeah, he's just a bitter apostate.
What goes around comes around.

DCP is an apostate of the "offended" variety instead of an appstate of the "the history proves its false" variety.

Mr. Peterson is already an apostate. He pays his tithing, and raises his hand in chruch so that's good enough to keep him around. Plus, he's paid by the Mormon church through proxies to do what he does. He would never openly apostatize.

I have met Dr. Peterson several times. I've read much of what he has written and have attended his lectures and sermons.
He is, fundamentally, a believer and wholly dedicated to the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a very effective writer and speaker. I once brought a family of investigators to hear him speak in Westwood and the father joined the church a couple of weeks later in large part because of what he experienced.
It is really too bad that you have to focus on him and demonize him. I suppose that his one flaw is that he likes to use his writing to strike back, and that in and of itself exposes him to even more criticism, but really now, I've had it up to here with the constant attacks upon him.

Good description.
