Yes. Loved it. Best movie I have seen this year. Daniel Day Lewis should get an Oscar for this. I thought Tommy Lee Jones as Congressman Thaddeus Stevens was fantastic. I knew nothing abouth the man but looked into him further after the movie. I l history and this movie brought such a crucial part of the Lincoln administration alive for me.

I agree with what Jason Bourne said. It was really good. I think they could have edited it down maybe 10 minutes by reducing the sermonizing a little. I think it's important for Americans to learn more about our history and the story of the 13th Amendment is one probably most of us didn't know much about. I get that, and I appreciate it a lot. But maybe having sat through so many General Conferences as a TBM, I think I've endured too many sermons in my life, and I had the feeling I was sitting through another one sometimes in this film. But only by a little, like I say they could have cut out 10 minutes from the movie and it would have been perfect.

Excellent! Worth seeing just to watch Lewis act. It's mostly about the politics surrounding the 13 amendment. I found it fascinating (I'm kind of a political junkie).

Saw it on Thanksgiving. I'd give it 3/5 stars. Lewis did very well playing Lincoln. Spielberg can get syrupy in his films, and there's plenty of sticky sentimentality in this movie.

Ah, how sad you lost big time in the recent elections. You must be feeling very upset. Never mind, once the Republicans get their heads out of their rectums, they will start to do better.

You do realize, of course, that the Republicans were the liberals in those days and the Democrats were the conservatives. Things have changed. They changed about a hundred years ago.

You should see it, Blixa. It's very well done. The acting is superb. Spielberg did Amistad and it was quite good (just my opinion). Lincoln is similar, only a bit better. I didn't see any 'sticky sentimentality' at all. I'm not sure where madeleine is coming from.
