Wow, I hesitate to post. Because of the various careers I've had over the years I've met many (just luck). I don't usually name drop because it never sounds very good, but it's hard to resist when asked.
In Utah I did photography work for the Osmond family.
After that I had a photography studio in Hendersonville, TN in the late 70's and early 80's and did a large part of my work for country music celebrities.
I met and worked with many country music stars of that era.
When I first moved to LA I still had business contacts involved in the entertainment industry, so I was lucky enough to meet many celebrities in the movie industry. One or two are still friends.
While working for NASA I was privileged to meet many of the astronauts (about half of those that were active at that time). I spent a day with one that had walked on the moon and got to know all the astronauts that perished on Columbia. One in particular became a good friend.
I'll post names if anyone is interested.

Larry Miller (former Utah Jazz owner) yelled at me when I was a deacon.
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

I'm sure you deserved it (just kidding).
haha yeah we were pretending like we could suck power out of each other by grabbing each other's elbows and making a sucking noise during the prayer. He walked to our pew, leaned over with his face in mine and said,
"You need to think about where the HELL you are!"
I was shocked that he used such harsh language in the same room that we partake of Christ's flesh and blood.

I opened the door to Jerry's Deli on Ventura boulevard to step in at the same moment Jeff Goldblum was stepping out. We literally bumped into one another.
He said "Oh, sorry". I said "sorry" and then recognized him. I said "Hi". He smiled and said "Hi". We passed.

Walter Cronkite two tables over at dinner. It was really hard not to stare.

Living well off the celebrity circuits all sightings are questionable. I did see Bob Dylan one after noon while fly fishing. He was coming around a bend fishing a grey hackle.Nah, its a lie I made up one afternoon when bored.
I know James Lavadour a famous painter. Well he is regionally famous. No big waves making it beyond the Mississippi. There is a possibility in the future, well maybe or maybe not.

Do you fly fish the big muddy? Unusual. I've fished the Cumberland and Tennessee (both tributaries). Drowning worms for catfish and trolling lures for Bass. I much prefer the clear waters of the west for fly fishing trout.

Quasimodo, clarifying, I live in the Pacific Northwest. The Mississippi is far far to the east of my fishing streams. I tend to think of areas to the east of it as a somewhat foreign land. I have heard people fly fish in some of those eastern areas but I have not heard much about fly fishing the Mississippi itself.
