While it remains to be seen where the Utah Utes will be going bowling, one thing is certain — they won't be losing money.

The Pac-12 has a system in place to ensure that all expenses are covered, including charter flights.

Aside from BCS trips to the Fiesta and Sugar bowls, Utah athletics director Chris Hill acknowledged it's the best financial situation the Utes have had for a bowl game.

"Mainly because there's really no risk of losing funding," he said while noting there were times in the Mountain West Conference where it was a financial drain to go to a bowl game.

That isn't an issue in the Pac-12.

Recalling the Pons, Fleischmann, and Jones cold fusion incident, perhaps they are equally smart.

This is going to be a short thread.
"Any over-ritualized religion since the dawn of time can make its priests say yes, we know, it is rotten, and hard luck, but just do as we say, keep at the ritual, stick it out, give us your money and you'll end up with the angels in heaven for evermore."

Why the UofU is Smarter than BYU

BYU being invited to the Poinsettia Bowl displays both the faithfulness of the Saints and serves as more tangible proof of truthfulness than a stone translated as NHM.

As to the UofU being smarter than BYU, there is no proof of that claim. However, Utah is free to make that claim without running it past a variety of Authorities for explicit approval. This is not to say that BYU is envious of the academic freedom enjoyed by their secular counterparts, because they alone have the world's truest honor code.

The article is from 2011. I have no idea why it's relevant in 2012.

Actually, it turned out they may have been right after all. Who would have thought that coming from the UofU? ;)

Tobin is, as we know, a figure whose reputation as a scientific authority is such that a statement by him in favor of the reality of cold fusion simply makes it unnecessary to have any further discussion.

Those of little faith might like to look at this:

Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
