Last year I discovered Glogg, from a story that NPR aired. It is warm, yummy and makes everyone feel so cozy! I just kept making more and more of it. Here is the recipe:

I made one mistake, though. I usually use agave syrup instead of sugar. I tried it but used the agave 1:1 for the sugar even though agave is sweeter than sugar. Along with the Port I think I made it too sweet. But it was still very tasty!

I have a scotch drinking friend who has led me down that sinful path of scotch appreciation. I thing you're right that it is an acquired taste. The BIG downside is that, once you have acquired a refined taste, nothing but the very expensive stuff will do.

Personally, when given the choice, I usually will have a glass of wine. The more complex, the better.
