But really I am not a fan of this type of thing which really puts me in the minoroity here based on the cheers from your many fans.

Not to mention someone who seemed to have an informant informing him of everything Dan did or did not do. I suppose that most here would find that commendable of scratch until it happened to them.

Wow, that's fascinating. It tells me at least a few things: (1) That, per Hamblin, most of the "intel" I was sent was correct. He even specifically mentions budget-related items, which as you might recall, sent DCP through the roof in terms of denying the intel. Prof. Peterson has said repeatedly that virtually "all" of the intel I got was wrong, and that in fact, he was contacted by some "anonymous" person who claimed to be playing me like a fiddle. Well, if that was the case, it sure worked out to the Mopologists' advantage, didn't it? (2) Hamblin lied when he claimed to have learned the identity of the "mole." Now he merely thinks that it was "somebody" among the ranks at the MI.

It's really interesting to see what he's saying about donors and financing. I continue to wonder if these "millions" will get diverted to the Mormon Interpreter (given their not-for-profit tax status, we'd get to see how the money was spent). And regardless, Hamblin's comments make it seem as if this will be a long, protracted war, that will likely never end without GA intervention.

Finally: I'm not really impressed with Hamblin's anecdote about the poor, wayward child who was led astray by John Dehlin. We could just as easily list off dozens of people who left the Church after reading the Mopologists' work, or after they were mistreated by Hamblin, DCP, Pahoran, or whoever else.

That's a good question. And even if/when he does step down, how will that be a "victory" for them? I suppose it will depend on who the successor winds up being.

I am so deeply disappointed with Dr. Hamblin. After all these years of appreciating him and his work production and scholarship. For years I have always thought of him as far above the internet fray. I feel like a lone voice expressing my disappointment with his approach to the reorganization. (And I'm one who thought highly of what FARMS was doing, and the voice it was using. And, I would endorse a published critique of John Dehlin's antics.) Sure, he feels a need to stick up and support the outgoing administration, but that is typically done with bonhomie.

I take consolation in the fact that this little dust-up has nothing to do with religion, history or doctrine. Rather, it is all in cosmetics.
