Of all the statues I wish could come to life...

Someday I'd like to visit the museum that has the heads and arms of the sculptures in all the other museums.

The temple of "Nike Apteros"

A statue of Nike stood in the cella, or otherwise referred to as a naos. Nike was originally the "winged victory" goddess (see the winged Nike of Samothrace SEE BLIXA'S COMMENT) The Athena Nike statue's absence of wings led Athenians in later centuries to call it Nike Apteros (wingless victory), and the story arose that the statue was deprived of wings so that it could never leave the city.

As a student in middle school (You call it high...) I used to drawn this type of plans - subject: history of architecture.

As a fan of entropy and decay, I find much beauty in those ruins, ludwig. One of the most beautiful and moving objects I've ever seen is a small piece of an Egyptian wall mural that just contains the lower face of a woman.

How come we don't see cool wall art like this on the streets of our suburbs?
