Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side than to realize how well we know our Father [in Heaven] and how familiar his face is to us

Please, show me the straw man in quasi's OP.
Who was the mother? Was she LDS? How does one, isolated incident involving not the sharpest tool in the shed reflect on either Utah or the Church?
In other words, Molok, strawman, even if a rather vague one. What is it you want to discuss here? What is the real point of the thread?

I also noticed the "sign our "assault weapons ban" petition below the article, a term that has no intelligible meaning whatsoever and is a political term contrived to create an emotional response.
Pathetic indeed.

I don't think I or the article mentioned the "Church". I'm not anti-Mormon, just anti-stupidity. There are stupid people in all religions just as there are stupid people in all states.
I lived in Utah for a very long time and I know that there are smart people living there. These parents don't number among them.
Utah does seem to run close to the top of states that do very unwise things. Competing with Texas, Arizona and Alaska.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

So there is an underlying agenda to the otherwise pointless thread. Why not just articulate in openly, Quasi?

Why did you ask if the mother is LDS? It appears you are being oversensitive. Quas put this post in the Old Testament forum and references Utah not Mormonism.
