My position is that you are mistakenly demanding that Joseph Smith's theology be consistent / make logical sense. So when you make statements like

yours. "How did God get this greater knowledge if we have all existed together the same?" I'm sure you'll figure it out someday

You're missing the point. The discussion is about Joseph Smith's theology, not how to interpret Joseph Smith's theology in a way that it kind of makes sense. If you feel that your position is correct, give us some references to show that.

I made no such demand. I accurately quoted and portrayed what Joseph Smith said in contrast to the OP. When others here deviated from the quote, I corrected them.

I will remind you religion had its shot for thousands of years before the scientific method came around. Didn't really do much except make people miserable (and it continues to do so unabated these days).

I think it is more basic than that, I think Dr. W is making his story up. I am not sure he ever worked in the Middle East on Sundays.

So, which sock puppet are you? What other usernames have you gone by on this forum?

None that I am aware of. That's kind of a paranoid question, why would you ask?

The problem with Dr. W's story is that Sunday is not Sunday in the Middle East. Friday is the sabbath, when we went to Church, and the start of the weekend. Sunday is the first day of the work week. The weekend is Friday and Saturday. I would have expected someone who worked there to recognize the fact that everyone's work on Sunday would be theoretically the same.

You have a certain Mopologist-esque je ne sais quois, and more often than not when someone has been suspected of being a sockpuppet they've been outed over time.

Syntax is a problem, my friend. You can't escape it.

Your second paragraph above is a perfect example of nitpicking that a former Mopologist used to engage in ad naseum. I'll give you a chance to come clean, or be eventually shamed and yet another black mark for your faith. Your choice "Bhodi".

Have you considered your Ahab-ish tendencies are getting the better of you?

I have never posted here before, precisely because I don't like the atmosphere, such as the above. Do you really need to see enemies everywhere? Do you really need to have a white whale to attack. Dr. W's comments do not make sense, precisely because they contradict the reality of living and working in the Middle East. Sorry, but that is the reality.

Come clean. It's cathartic.

Please note that I did not refer to the "Sabbath" in my post. I referred to Sunday (you know, the day of the week). I was comparing the Sunday activities of a faithful Mormon to my own Sunday activities while overseas.

As a matter of fact, while overseas, we normally work 10 -12 hours per day, seven days a week. We have our own facilities and equipment (owned or leased) and try to make the most efficient use of our time there, because it (everything) is expensive.

This is interesting. What if you are wrong? Why the need to find opposition where none exists, to see boogeymen in the shadows? If you are wrong, which you are by the way, what then?
