There is no chapter or verse. How well do you know the Bible?

Hebrews 7:

15 So we can plainly see that God’s method changed, for Christ, the new High Priest who came with the rank of Melchizedek,
16 did not become a priest by meeting the old requirement of belonging to the tribe of Levi, but on the basis of power flowing from a life that cannot end.
17 And the psalmist points this out when he says of Christ, “You are a priest forever with the rank of Melchizedek.”
18 Yes, the old system of priesthood based on family lines was canceled because it didn’t work. It was weak and useless for saving people.
19 It never made anyone really right with God. But now we have a far better hope, for Christ makes us acceptable to God, and now we may draw near to him.
20 God took an oath that Christ would always be a Priest,
21 although he never said that of other priests. Only to Christ he said, “The Lord has sworn and will never change his mind: You are a Priest forever, with the rank of Melchizedek.”
22 Because of God’s oath, Christ can guarantee forever the success of this new and better arrangement.
23 Under the old arrangement there had to be many priests so that when the older ones died off, the system could still be carried on by others who took their places.
24 But Jesus lives forever and continues to be a Priest so that no one else is needed.
25 He is able to save completely all who come to God through him. Since he will live forever, he will always be there to remind God that he has paid for their sins with his blood.
26 He is, therefore, exactly the kind of High Priest we need; for he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin, undefiled by sinners, and to him has been given the place of honor in heaven.
27 He never needs the daily blood of animal sacrifices, as other priests did, to cover over first their own sins and then the sins of the people; for he finished all sacrifices, once and for all, when he sacrificed himself on the cross.
28 Under the old system, even the high priests were weak and sinful men who could not keep from doing wrong, but later God appointed by his oath his Son who is perfect forever.

The Bible very clearly says Jesus is our Melchizedek Priest and why there's no need for another

This might be the problem. Are you familiar with the Bible at all? The Living Bible is actually a poor source, do you know what the above really says?

But this is actually not what the verses say. How well do you know the Bible (history, culture, etymology...)?

I know the Bible quite well and I know that the only one that holds the Melchizedek Priesthood in the New Testament is Jesus and the Only one in the Old Testament is Jesus since it was Jesus who appeared to Abraham as Melchizedek .

Hebrews 7
1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Only Jesus could claim no Father and no Mother and having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, since he was God from eternity.

Micah 5
1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Mittens thinks Melchisedec was a preincarnated Jesus. :lol:

Bhodi, why are you even trying to talk to this person? They really have no understanding of the scriptures what-so-ever. I've read some whacky things on this forum, but that has to be one of the funniest things I've read in a while.
"You lack vision, but I see a place where people get on and off the freeway. On and off, off and on all day, all night.... Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see. My God, it'll be beautiful." -- Judge Doom

Presumably, your claim that Mittens knows nothing of scripture is based on the belief that what you have accepted within Mormonism is the correct interpretation...this passage in particular. While I would not go so far as to say that the man Abraham gave his tithes to was Jesus, he was what might be termed a "type" of Jesus. Whoever this man was, it does not negate the fact that only Jesus is described in scripture as being a "high priest after the order of Melchizedec". To fit the role of the one who could make the ultimate atonement "once and for all" and enter the holy of holies "once and for all" Jesus became our great high priest...the only one we have need of. Previous high priests, of which there was only one at a time, held the Levitical priesthood, a priesthood by tribal right, but since Jesus was not of the tribe of Levi he did not hold this priesthood, thus his higher priesthood. Perhaps you can provide a single Biblical reference of anyone else, besides these two, holding the Melchizedec priesthood.
