Since Mormons, especially temple recommend holding Mormons, are charged with a higher moral code, one has to ask if this is Christlike behavior?

I don't like commenting on any thread with the words "Dan Peterson" or "DCP" in the title, but I want to say one thing.

My husband's entry in the ward directory doesn't have me in it. It just lists his name followed by our daughter's name.

I never liked this. I wish it listed me. If a ward member says, "Hey, what's Paul's wife's name again?," I would love for them to be able to look it up in the ward directory and see.

A ward clerk or two has told me that they could create a "nonmember spouse" record or something and put me in there, but I've always declined. And situations like this are exactly why. I don't want the LDS church to have some record on me that anyone on the Internet who happens to have a buddy in local ward leadership (who doesn't have one of those?) can look up. I don't believe my information would be secure.

If anyone wants to know the intimate details of my life, s/he'll just have to read my blog like the rest of the world.

but from reading Ceeboo's posts he really is one of a number of posters here who consistently puts a smile on my face.

How very kind!

I am most happy to learn this, Hasa!

Perhaps the main reason I choose to frequent this board is to offer, receive, promote, encourage, and enjoy the "smiles" that are widely and commonly available here..........................should we simply and only look!

Peace,

And that is the issue here at the end of the day, Jack. As Rollo explained back on page 1, here we have a guy who took commercial records and used a proxy to check them against Church records for the purposes of trying to identify an anonymous poster of a message board he supposedly cares little for.

There is a clear ethical line that Dan crossed here (even if his intentions were as pure as the Savior himself) that is not couched in any ambiguous innuendoes. He wrote, as a matter of fact, that he did this and feels so comfortable with what he did that he published it on a public message board. There is no misunderstanding; no reasonable defense can be made for this.

What I’m curious in seeing is how the mopologist lapdogs going to react to this. Are they going to do the right thing? I expect nothing from the Church itself; I don’t grant it any of its presumptions of being anything resembling a moral institution, just another large corporation like General Motors with greater tax benefits.
Will there be moral indignation? Will there be a call to repentance? Will even one conscious be pricked? Or will Scott Lloyd clog his arteries at some other fast food joint in solidarity with Big Dan P and the whole event be explained away by our inability to take a joke?

You want proof that Church Apologists are capable of and in fact engaged in social engineering to access Church records to find out private information on members? This is it in spades.

A very bitter fruit to be cultivating.

Can you imagine the uproar here if I openly stated that I gave EA a list of IPs to check against posters here, so I could find out who someone was? EA and I would promptly be banned and universally denounced.

Juliann already did this to out the identity of a NOMish poster who posted at both MADB and here. She was continuing to share this poster's private information on MDDB as little as a few weeks ago.

Mopologists only complain about this crap when they themselves are the target of it. When it's being done to "critics," it's fair game.

These empty attacks and personal mocking is quite adorable, I am hoping for better from all of you, though.
Oh well, I plain disagree with all of you, everywhere, on the entire planet.

No offense but you all seem to be missing it completely, amusing! And why the grudge. Let it go.

You come off as completely angry, for what? You're simply not understanding any of this.

Please, let all the hate subside and think of a flower or something like a flower, maybe a few flowers, or perhaps the stem of any flower, or the pot that a flower goes in.....
