Re: Evolution Again!
Dr W I particularly liked the comment on the timeline which states that since the flood, year 2,500 BC (Mormonism teaches this date as being literally when the flood happened) the earth has been hollow with Hell at the centre.
Sort of like an Easter egg with a nasty surprise...

That said, with the Book of Mormon, we are not dealing with a civilization with no written record. What we are dealing with is a written record with no civilization. (Runtu, Feb 2015)

To be honest it wasn't just about Ceeboo (sorry!), it was a chance to talk about things that are interesting and maybe bounce understandings of things around and build on them.
The burden of proof is going to rest on whichever creationist stands by their religious sentiments. If they want to try to overthrow 200 years of science with words on an internet forum without first learning said science, by posting religiously motivated lunatics desperate excuses. It's been enough work just defining the case, presenting examples, and answering questions (often the same ones several times), let the creationists explain their own this time.
Harold,
In case you haven't noticed. Ceeboo just asks questions. He does not seem interested in providing any reasonable alternatives to evolutionary theory. Like most creationists when it comes to evolution, Ceeboo just says nah-uh and leaves it at that.
Nothing any of the evolutionists have said, no data they have presented, no logical case they have built, has had any apparent effect on the unfounded views of the creationists.
I say it is time to start talking about creationism. Lay out the ridiculous, illogical, demonstrably false, and delusional tenets of "creation science" for all to see. Show the creationist case for the delusional fantasy that it is, and let the creationists defend it.
On the other hand, perhaps you are right. I can imagine that the response to one who laid out the creationist position in too much detail would be the Tobin maneuver - just hit the "ignore" switch.
Nah I'm out lol. It's encouraging laziness and kills the desire to learn for himself. If he wants to make a case let him build it I say. You can approach it how you like but he needs to get into the drivers' seat instead of just going on 'ignore autopilot'. If he says God spoke everything into exist in its true form let him prove it. Is there any EVIDENCE FOR that? Not necessarily questions that we still have about our evolutionary history, ACTUAL EVIDENCE FOR creationism? He says he only believes in the nonsense term "microevolution", a vague term invented by creationists with no real definition. Let him explain how genetic mutations stop at certain thresholds.
EDIT: removing jackass parts lol
Sorry for being brusque lol operating on little sleep.

I liked that one too. The little graphic is quite, well, graphic.
And there are 24 of these little gems, all with references. Like I said - one stop shopping for creation science at its best.

DrW,
Thanks for posting the stuff from Dr. Donald Wise!
...quite illuminating...
Ceeboo,
Is the reason you don't trust radiometric dating because the "speed of light changed..."?

Re: Evolution Again!
Hello friends
I wasn't expecting to log-on to the recent reading found in this thread!
A few comments:
Please don't feel like you must partrake in the thread. We all have choices here and are free to make them any way we see fit.
It will probabaly be impossible for me to discuss, answer and/or reply to all of you (and the recent 'accusations' and 'innuendo') at the same time. (Sorry)
A bit of housekeeping, if I may:
Creationism/creationist:
A short reply concerning this nasty and dirty word that is being cast about of late. Anybody who believes in a Creator/God is a creationist. This simply and only means that they believe all was created by a Creator. Some are young earth creationists (YEC), some are old earth creationists that adhere to evolution (Theistic Evolutionists), and some have no voice on the matter but remain a believer of and in creation by a Creator.
I regret that the discussion (for what it's worth, I thought much of it was deeply interesting, thought provoking and most fascinating) has evolved (pun intended
) into a focus and evaluation of and on Ceeboo, Ceeboo's laziness, Ceeboo's education, Ceeboo's personal beliefs and a demand that it is Ceeboo's turn to deliver his case to the jury.
I pass and rest!
Peace,
Ceeboo

Ceeboo,
You are a great guy. You have a sense of humor and help generate lively banter on the board. However, no matter how evidence based and logical the arguments for evolution are, you seem to simply reset once you hear them.
This may be interesting for you, but many of us know this stuff, and it takes some time and effort to write explanations. We do this (or at least I do this) on a couple of boards because it appears that folks are interested in, and learn from, what is written. The expectation is that others will make their contributions as well so everybody can learn something.
It seems that the participants either already know this stuff or are not willing to even give it serious consideration. It appears that not much learning is taking place.
So, perhaps you are right. It seems likely that I indeed misunderstood your intent in posting the OP and have been wasting time.
Best wishes, Ceeboo.
Again, I consider you one of the good guys (even if you remain among the convinced).

About two miles as the crow (dinosaur) flies. A little farther by road to a public beach.
The dog beach (where you are allowed to run your dog [read 'genetically engineered wolf']) is about four miles, to the great joy of my yellow lab and pointer.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Ceeboo, Ceeboo, Ceeboo... :) We answered every one of your questions, and put in several hours into writing that man, per your requests... I'm betting in three months it's going to be a "racoon" again...

Hey BC
If you want to post something, you must press some of the letter keys (they are just below your screen).
If you click the Quote button, you can see that it was a link to a picture of a raccoon. The picture is no longer there unfortunately.
Edit: Looks like it's back up.
