I guess that leaves me wondering why it hasn't happened yet. I really don't see a majority of people opposing it, even amongst people with views similar to mine.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Because no politician has the courage to suggest something that COSTS MORE NOW to save money later. It's all about cut, cut, cut.

All my seven children are turning out to be contributing tax paying members of society. But I think this story illustrates the question of why should anyone be forced to pay for someone's lifestyle choice? Why should your insurance premiums go up to fund my wife's seven pregnancies? Why should my insurance go up to cover someone else's smoking habit or venereal diseases or obesity related health issues?

The answer? No reason at all.

You really think there is no reason at all? Do you understand how insurance works? Do you understand how life works?

The reason is because human beings live in interdependent groups. Everything we do affects one another. If you don't like that, or don't think it's fair, go live on a deserted island. Good luck with that.

We have to consider that many of those pregnancies are planned, and a way to use the welfare system to gain free money, food, housing, and medical care.

My spouse was talking to a woman who was well versed in the ways of gaming the system, and it has become a way of life for perpetual welfare mothers.

It's about time somebody started punishing those little moochers by withholding support. It's the only moral response in this kind of situation. I applaud these righteous legislators for taking such a moral stand. It's about time someone had the courage to stand up to the rich and powerful thumb-sucker lobby and take action. The free ride for greedy moocher babies must end now.

Did I miss something? Didn't Newt get Bubba to go along with "ending welfare" back in 94? Isn't it even actually called "temporary aid" now, with a requirement to work in order to get benefits?
