Just as a general question, why are the Creeds so replete with Greek philosophical language? Christianity was a Jewish religion, with Jewish understanding. Why is it that Jewish thought is ignored in favor of Greek philosophy. Why did Christianity become such a Greek vehicle instead of a Jewish one?

Probably for the same reason the Book of Mormon was written in Reformed Egyptian ? A language never know and Egypt a nation that Jews despised

because Constantine was not concerned with uniting the "Jewish" empire but rather the Roman empire.....

If Mormonism never existed the question would still remain. Ask Matt Slick, I am curious what he would tell you.

Re: The 4th and 5th century Creeds
Mittens may not know, and most LDS don't that the "original" Nicene Creed isn't actually against LDS Theology.
LDS Theology is against most of the "later" versions.
The original Nicene Creed was written the way it was for a reason to where certain words could in fact be interpreted the other way that was common, such as how LDS might interpret them.
It is really only the later "codifying" of the word "substance" to mean "same being/substance/essence" etc. that conflicts with both the Bible and Mormonism.

Mittens,
Do you really think anyone on this forum (except maybe you and thews) take Matt Slick seriously?

Re: The 4th and 5th century Creeds
The creeds are of man and are fashioned to support one view of scripture. The test of this is to find out what happened to you if you did not support the creed? If it was of God then heaven and earth would reorganize to try and save your soul. But if it was of men then men would judge you and kill you, then of course they would take your property. Then after they killed you they would display your dead corpse to get all of the other forced members of the church to fall in line. Now history tells us which is which. Who cares about scriptural support just look at the fruit.

Sounds like the Meadow Mountain Massacre except worse since it included whole families

But this does not answer the question.
