A goodly portion of French Resistance participants were Socialist. Boy, I bet they were embarrassed when they found out they were fighting on the wrong side!

And, as Hayek pointed out immediately after the war, socialists, Nazis, and fascists had little problem moving from each of these ideologies to the others as the winds of war and political intrigue blew. Good revolutionary socialists and committed fascists, with a bit of housekeeping, made great Nazis (as Hitler himself mentioned at one point).
