OH MY...All the weapons you could want, yet TN is still safe

Post by _ldsfaqs »

Full Auto guns of all types, TANKS, Armored Assault Vehicles, Military Helicopters, etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKOW5XXf_KA

Yet these people are not shooting up schools, the world, etc.
The world has not ended because these people exercise the limits of Freedom in self defense.

The facts of reality debunk the liberal lies.

by the way, I know TN is actually 8th or 2nd in gun related violence depending on which liberal stats you look at (boy there is confidence), but if you look at the details, it's due to a surge in gangs, etc., not actually due to the lawful firearms owners such as these. Further proof of this factor is that other areas of the country also have high firearms ownership, yet don't have high gun violence #'s, and they also don't have the gang problems etc.

Check and Mate.

So much for you people saying we shouldn't own Tanks, Full Auto guns, etc.
Your argument is of your mind, not facts and reality.
Also, there are other states/areas with this type of freedom to various degrees, and also with low gun deaths.

being a native Tennessean i believe it is vital to understand that the "gun violence" stats for our state are not indicative of the entire state area...but understandably influenced by particular, narrower, and smaller areas....(spoiler alert: Memphis)....for example, one cannot cast a net over Michigan because of Detroit, California because of Oakland, New York because of New York City, Ohio because of Cleveland, Pennsylvania because of Philadelphia...etc...

wait a second...these violent cities seem to have something else in common...with regard to their political affiliation....i think i may have found the real problem

As far as political affiliations, I suggest you look at the guy in the Youtube video with the prominent SS epaulets on his collar.

Wait a minute! The guy is just dressed like that because somebody has to play the enemy, right?

Funny how you never see anyone dressed as a Japanese soldier, though. When these guys choose which enemy they want play, for some reason they pretty much always choose the Third Reich...

I was tempted to write a reply to the original post, but I felt in the absence of a coherent argument being proposed, no further comment was required. I really didn't think anyone would want to hitch their horse to this wagon.

It always fascinates me that when people who don't actually make a "coherent" argument, then accuse others of not making one and not worth responding to.

For example I KNEW one of you would point out the "Nazi" uniform guy, but entirely ignore the U.S. ARMY dressed guy on a bike a few shots later.

Further, nothing in your post is an "argument" about anything other than slandering an individual, while my post was in direct response providing clear evidence debunking the liberal slander that it would just be so terrible if citizens had full auto guns, tanks, and the like.

So, those who are still objective and are not brainwashed shills like you can clearly see "who" made an argument, and who just made ad-hom attacks on others without ANY sort of evidence or justification. Sure, I attack most of you, but I provide the evidence by your own actions and words. All you people have on me is the rare grammar mistake intentional or unintentional. Boy you all are so "wonderful".

by the way..... Ya, it's just so "terrible" that the VAST majority of WWII/I movies actually portray the War in EUROPE, and not Japan. Ya, the fact that that was the major war, and not a few Island fights and a couple of bombs, ya, that and that Nazi's were the greater evil, just couldn't be the REAL reasons most people identify WWII/I with Nazi's more so than Japanese. Ya, and Nazi "dress" wasn't actually "distinctive" compared to Japanese dress? Anyone even remember really Japanese dress? Not really, because it wasn't "formal" like Nazi's save the leaders which looked like any other military dress.

Ya, all those ACTUAL REASONS couldn't be why people play dress up in Nazi uniforms.... It just HAS to be because they are actually "racist's" and "bigots" at heart.

Predictable Liberal fantasy propaganda, rather than reality and fact.

I stand corrected. So there are as many people in U.S. uniforms as Nazi uniforms. I wonder how people who were afraid that ACORN was going to be Obama's brown shirts react to someone wearing the actual uniform of the brown shirts.

The next time you see someone at a 'liberal' event dressed in SS epaulets, let me know. The event in Tennessee was not a World War II re-enactment. The guy came dressed like a Nazi because he wanted to.

Does this mean everyone at that event was a Nazi? Of course not. That's why I had the link to the Artie Johnson 'Very Interesting' film clip. I was trying to show that my tongue was firmly in cheek.

I just don't understand how a youtube video of a bunch of people blowing up crap in the woods constitutes a rational argument against gun regulation.

What I was reacting to was the argument postulated by subgenius:

subgenius wrote:being a native Tennessean i believe it is vital to understand that the "gun violence" stats for our state are not indicative of the entire state area...but understandably influenced by particular, narrower, and smaller areas....(spoiler alert: Memphis)....for example, one cannot cast a net over Michigan because of Detroit, California because of Oakland, New York because of New York City, Ohio because of Cleveland, Pennsylvania because of Philadelphia...etc...

It is an argument pitting two Americas, rural and urban, against each other. Rural people are Republicans, urban people are Democrats. Gun violence disproportionately affects inner city residents. But since they are heavily Democratic, that must be the problem. THOSE people are different.

As the Union was disintegrating before the Civil War, Henry Adams wrote "There are grave doubts at the hugeness of the land, and whether one government can comprehend the whole.” The year was 1861. The population of the United States was 31,000,000.

Today we have 10 times the population, and we are a vastly more complicated and diverse society than we were in 1861. Obviously slavery was the question that ultimately split the Union, but already the country was divided on the interests of the rural and urban Americans.

Some of those differences have increased. Let me give you an example:

Alaska has 731,000 people living in 663,000 square miles, a population density of 1.26 per square mile. San Francisco has 815,000 people living on less than 49 square miles, a population density of over 17,000 per square mile.

17,000 vs. 1.26. There are more caribou than people in Alaska. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure out that the homicide rate is going to higher in urban areas than rural areas.

Is there any wonder why people in Alaska and San Francisco don't think about guns in the same way? It would be easy to write laws that would satisfy the people of Alaska OR the people of San Francisco. But it is very difficult to write laws that would satisfy the people of San Francisco AND Alaska. To paraphrase Henry Adams, can one government comprehend the whole?

I DID live it, because we hadn't other choice.

Why does it have to? I see a lot of benefits to being a coalition of states.

Memphis would skew any states gun crime statistics.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Historian Shelby Foote observed that before the Civil War, Americans used to say "The United States are". After the war people said "The United States is."

The war changed us from an 'are' to an 'is'.

There is no modern Mason-Dixon line that neatly delineates one group of Americans from another.

At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide.

Summarizing the argument, there are a whole bunch of rednecks in Tennessee with weapon fetishes. The vast majority of them don’t blow up schools, the world, etc. Therefore, American society should permit absolutely anybody and everybody to purchase and own Full Auto guns of all types, TANKS, Armored Assault Vehicles, Military Helicopters, etc. without background checks, registration, etc.

Check and Mate is right—I can’t respond to an argument like that.
