They were told not to leave their position in Tripoli (the EMBASSY, Benghazi was a diplomatic mission) where they were responsible for the civilian and state department personnel at that location (the EMBASSY). Those orders came from AFRICOM or other regional military command according to the testimonies recieved last week in the House. Hicks testified that they didn't know if The EMBASSY in Tripoli may or may not be a target in an attack as well. Stop being so stupid, Droops. The call on the ground was the right one under the circumstances, and even if they could have done something better in hindsight, the call on the ground was made by professionals doing their jobs. Obama is the chief executive and the commander-in-chief.
The buck, and the B.S., stops with him.
While not even remotely true (and if you insist, two words - Abu Ghraib. Or if you don't like those, Water Boarding fits as well), it's nice of you to make your motive in this so transparent.
It isn't about what happened in Benghazi, it's about Obama.

Amazing -- apparently there's no accountability for ignoring intelligence that leads to a terrorist attack that kills 3000 and lying your way into a war that costs thousands of American lives, but now we go to nonsensical extremes to second guess every breath taken. Quite a contrast in the republican behavior on the two 9/11s....
Of course it's about Obama. More than that, it's about a political party hell bent on doing everything in it's power to thwart the results of democratic elections when it's on the losing side.

The funny thing is, the right-wing media completely ignores statements from people involved in the attack that they were motivated by the video. The fact is, the evidence on the motive for the attack is conflicting. In its rush to trample the bodies of the dead to make political hay, the right wingers have already disclosed the existence of a CIA facility and compromised the identities of folks in Libya. They're also bitching that every detail that somebody thought might have been true wasn't disclosed, when everyone knows that you stand a better chance of catching the bad guys if you keep your mouth shut about the details. And if you read the e-mail chain for the talking points, you'll see that that's exactly why Rhodes from the State Dept. was objecting to specific details being included in the talking points.
The republicans love their clown shows, even if they have to jump up and down on the bodies of dead Americans to try and smear their opposition.
