See? You get it!

Anyway, what's so hard about current voting laws that voting on any other day of the week is terrible, but somehow voting on Sunday is a magically easy-to-do thing?

Eeeeeeyup. I get it just fine. (Let's not say that I am disagreeing with you -- let's just say that I'm agreeing in a damnably inconvenient manner.)

I'll take a shot at it.

1) Republicans generally view less early voting as an effort to reduce fraud and ease the workload on poll workers. I have no idea why eliminating early voting would reduce voter fraud. Maybe it has something to do with the kind of ID you must present which is pretty liberal at this point.

Well if you can't articulate a reason for eliminating early voting, I will: In 2012, North Carolina Democrats cast 49 percent of the early voting ballots; Republicans, only 30 percent. That makes a compelling, if not legitimate reason for Republicans to eliminate early voting.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure I fully understand your point here about Sunday voting being the equivalent to Friday prayers. Could you elaborate?

I'm not sure that this BBS is the place I would put forward an argument about not mixing religion and politics.
Doctor CamNC4Me wrote:Voting is ridiculously easy to begin with. You simply have to register, and then go vote. You even have an absentee option.

Not eliminating absentee ballots pretty well negates the argument that early voting is dangerous because people could change their minds. Not your argument I know, but I thought I would point it out.

As to voting being 'ridiculously easy', I would again point out that after early voting was merely reduced not eliminated in Florida, people waited in line for up to 7 hours to vote. I would not call that 'ridiculously easy'. I would call it a cautionary tale.

Hello Mr. Honor,

Please stop insulting Black people.

It's offensive.

Again.

It took me all of five seconds to figure out how to vote in NC.

Is anyone saying here that Black people can't figure out how to vote in NC?

Non sequitur.

The facts are that a disparity in access to education exists in this country, that it's correlated to wealth on the front end and achievement on the back end. It isn't a race issue. It's a statement about inequality in this country.

Self created and imposed inequality by blacks and their liberal politicians and leaders is not actual inequality.

Whites did not make their communities that way.
Whites did not make blacks low character to where 80% of black children are born to unwed mothers.
Liberalism has only made the black situation worse, because they used to be better people. But since becoming liberals their situations have only gotten worse do to both liberal ideology and thinking and policies.

The liberal ideology of me me me "what's mine" has made a culture of failures and selfish.
Bill Cosby and other more enlightened black leaders and knowns (all conservative) have recognized these things also. Black leaders such as Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are corrupt as heck, making things worse.
