Is it hypocrisy or just irony that the LA Times came out in support of the plastic bag ban, but every morning my copy of the paper shows up on my driveway wrapped in a plastic bag?

I think it's a clever ploy on the part of the Times. It looks like I'm going to have to subscribe to get dog poop bags.

If you think there is an issue, then work within the spirit of freedom to solve it, don't simply "ban" things.

ban ban ban.... Rather than use any sort of intelligence to "control" behavior and "direct" behavior in more positive ways.

Make plastic bags out of corn, so they are bio-degradable, or a more bio friendly plastic.
Make non-disposable plastic bags, so people use them over and over, and then when they wear out, recycle them.

Meet with the experts in industry, science etc., work to find BETTER ways. But no..... ban ban ban.... just like you do with anything else.
