MormonThink billboard is up
My wife just saw the new MormonThink billboard on I-15 in the Salt Lake valley between 4500 S and 3300 S. She said it faces north and is on the east side of I-15, you can see it when traveling south bound on I-15. Someone please take a picture of it and post it, would love to see the finished project that I had a very small part of.

Congratulations.
Funny how Jeff Ricks was able to get post-mormon.org billboards up with no problem and without framing himself as a suffering servant.
Hell, even Mike Norton got a billboard up in Utah about the josephlied website he ran years ago (I think it was Mike...).
But I applaud you for overcoming the difficulty of negotiating with advertising firms who serve a mostly-Mormon demographic. Such a shocker that they may be concerned about pissing off their core customers.
But it sounds like there was a conspiracy at work. Are you saying the Church actively tried to prevent your billboard?
All hail MormonThink!!!!

Re: MormonThink billboard is up
Well, the truth is that we had a deal with a billboard company in January. We didn't have the funds then and so after we raised the funds a few months later we went back to them but then they reneged on the deal. We negotiated in good faith but they refused our business.
We spent a lot of time on this and came up dry. And prior to this, the reditt crowd raised 5k for a MT billboard but everyone shut them down as well so they switched to a Facebook campaign instead after repeatedly getting shut down by billboard companies. I have no evidence the church was involved at all - probably just the executives that worked there were TBMs. It was frustrating and not looking good for even a simple billboard with just our domain name. You might recall that there was an article in the news about how the atheists were upset because they could not put up any billboards in Utah and blamed the Church.
Ironically, it was Jeff Ricks that came to our rescue and got our billboard. So praise be to Jeff Ricks of Postmormon.org and please forgive our jubilance at finally winning this hard-fought endeavor.

Well, at least all your hard work wasn't for naught.
So what does the billboard say?

As he has demonstrated again and again over the years, Jeff Ricks is an absolute class act.
