What would you call buying another human? Study the history of slavery. Most forms of it existed to supplement the population capable of being conceived through normal sexuality. This society wanted more children than it could produce on its own, so they bought them. What do you think the African slave trade was? People have this false impression of white people running over to Africa and rounding people up. Blacks sold blacks, their own children. Africans would have kids specifically for the purpose of selling them. It was a business just like raising cattle. In the Old Testament Joseph's brothers sell him into slavery. Homosexuals relationships cannot bear children, so they must be obtained through purchase from a 3rd party. Where are they supposed to come from?

In order for gays to have children a whole industry has to exist solely for the purpose of growing and selling kids. Read Cato's Re Rustica. You could replace a few words and it would become a nice manual on farming children for gays and the ethics of how they should be treated. Some will argue that this isn't the case because there are more kids already available for adoption than people able to take them in. One, this simply isn't true. But two, gays have demonstrated that this isn't their behavior. They exhibit racial, sex, and genetic discrimination behavioral tendencies when seeking children. They prefer to find babies overseas which meet their criteria, which are often intentionally farmed under the ruse of adoption (you can buy a Russian baby just as you can buy a Russian bride), or elect to hire a surrogate and buy sperm or an egg. Go scan through a catalog and select the genes you want to buy, then hire a lady in the birthing business to gestate the fetus. They'd use a mechanical incubator if such a thing existed. Perhaps sometime in the not too distant future we could peek inside the building of a company called "Gay Baby Makers, Inc." and inside it would look like a scene from the Matrix.

So I guess LDS Family Services putting so much pressure on young single women who become pregnant to give up their children is the Church being involved in slavery?

If the church were taking orders on children before they were even conceived and then knocking up young single women to fill those orders, then yes. And that is in fact what must happen to accommodate gay parents. Nice attempt at a false equivalence though.

i went to the fight hunger games where byu was trounced by a pac 12 school at at&t park. i asked why byu was locked into this s****y bowl on a weeknight after christmas for god knows how long. and i was told that byu was not invited to the pac 12, or any other significant conference because they will not play on sunday. fair enough. i am not even sure if that is true, but whatever. byu has its rules and it has to do what it is going to do. but they just got passed over in a huge conference, while the university of utah joined up. they lost a rivalry that has been bigger than elvis in the state of utah.

imagine what it will be like when espn and other schools have to consider contracts with a school that is trying to be bob jones university. it will be easy to fill a slot in the schedule with a school that is not an arm of the Mormon church, and as an independent school, there will be no obligations to host these bigots.

as long as the louder voices in the congregations are those of bigots like dallin oaks, water dog and others, byu will be seen as just another unwelcome and unnecessary guest.

I understand that Stanford and some other universities boycotted BYU during the 70s because of the priesthood thing and Carter started asking about the church’s tax-exempt status so it is only reasonable that it will happen again. Also I think that it was Shulem that mentioned that people and business might boycott Utah all together since in most people’s eyes Utah is the Church. There will be a lot of financial pressure on the church and since money is the one and true LDS god, the leadership will cave. Isn’t continuing revelation handy

Yes, and European slave owners bought slaves from their biological parents in Africa who bred them specifically for that purpose. Again, how is this different? 18th century European bought the slave for work on the farm. Gay couple buys it so it can make a cute Christmas card and feel normal in a heterosexual world. The intended use for the child is separate from the manner in which it was obtained. Slavery deals with the process of acquisition.
