Mormoniciousness from the Beginning (116 pages)

Post by _The Mighty Builder »

"commanded of the Lord that I should not translate the same over again, for Satan had put it into their hearts to tempt the Lord their God, by altering the words, that they did read contrary from that which I translated and caused to be written; and if I should bring forth the same words again, or, in other words, if I should translate the same over again, they would publish that which they had stolen, and Satan would stir up the hearts of this generation, that they might not receive this work:"

WHAT?!! Couldn't Joe and Marty recognize their own handwriting? It seems to me in a time so dependent upon manual writing that the people who where the authors of the text would be MORE than able to counter any claim of fraud by comparison of the handwriting

Slimy Horny Holy Joe and his cohorts....

The church explanation gets worse when you consider that the lost 116 pages were written with ink on foolscap and any words 'rubbed out' would be very noticeable.

Ahhh… but all mighty God, who knows all and sees all, He knew 1400 years before Joseph and Martin were even a twinkle in their parents eyes that Martin would lose those 116 pages so God, having super magical powers, and knowing what would happen in the future, cuz God can see in the future, told Nephi to write a duplicate copy of what his father Lehi had already written in his own hand. And we know that it was God’s hand in all of this miracle because he told Nephi to only make a record of those things that Joseph would translate in those 116 lost pages and not one word more. And of course God also let Mormon in on the plan…cuz he had Mormon only abridge those parts of Nephi’s record that incorporated those same 116 lost pages too and not one word more. Ya can't trick God

So see God is real and he can see into the future and he has super magical powers…and all of this proves that the Book of Mormon is true and that Nephi and Mormon were real prophets…otherwise why would God have Joseph come up with such a super perfect plan to counter the evil designs of those evil men who conspired with Lucy Harris to undermine the purposes of God. And see this is more proof that God is real…cus God’s plan worked, Joseph didn’t fall for Lucy’s trick and he didn’t get exposed as a fraud as Lucy had hoped.

So see…how puny is the hand of those who try to foil the plans of God. So all you evil apostates who read this board and try to undermine God's work through his one true chruch…never forget that God has those supper duper alien space powers and can see in the future and can also find car keys…so don’t ever try to fool God…cuz you’ll never succeed.

It's interesting that the South Park episode on Mormons focused on the lost 116 pages. It's not a well known incident outside of the Church, but it was pretty insightful of Parker and Stone to zero in on that one story as a key point in early Church history that is easily illustrated, and is totally believed by Mormons but absurd to non-Mormons.

It really is one of those incidents in early Church history that makes your head hurt if you actually think about it.

You forgot about the part where God totally frigged Nephi and Mormon by letting Joseph dump a rock in a hat...
Trimble, you ignorant sack of rhinoceros puss. The only thing more obvious than your lack of education is the foul stench that surrounds you.
