I’m routinely accused of acts of mean-spirited wickedness and unchristian cruelty. Nevertheless, with depressingly amusing regularity, when I ask for specific examples of my misbehavior my request is met with confident boasts, promises, and, in the end, little or nothing. It always ends not with a bang, but a whimper. There have been no exceptions.

I’m not exactly biting my nails in suspense on such occasions, either. I know with perfect assurance that my supposedly gross acts of heartless cruelty don’t exist. They never did.

DCP said it himself -- it was years ago, probably on ZLMB (or possibly the early FAIR board (the precursor of MAD)). I read his very words, so no gossip on this one.

no need. i will put it out there.

the grant palmer piece and the dehlin piece were wicked and cruel.

the issue is not whether dan has been cruel or wicked, it is his semantics and definition of wickedness and cruelty.

i will go even farther. the dehlin piece and the palmer piece were not just cruel in their treatment of the named targets. what he did was cruel to his staff, cruel to the other professors at byu, cruel to the institution and just plain reckless. taking such ridiculous liberties with other peoples' professions and the maxwell institute is wicked in its selfishness and vanity. eff that guy.

eta. i have been watching the game of thrones. my tolerance for wickedness and cruelty may be skewed. in fact, i think wickedness and cruelty generally suck but they may have a place in real life sometimes. i am certainly not above it. i have pulled some crappy stunts along the way for sure. what i have not done, is pretend that i am anything but perfect while using my resources to kick the everloving crap out of someone or to promote some nonsense. i have done other things instead.
