CFR. I have never seen Simon suggest Crandell cannot offer his opinions. He only says, and shows why, that he thinks he is incorrectly advocating certain positions the science does not support. Since he has communicated this to him, he can at any time show how he thinks is is correct.

There is absolutely no justification for the idea that religious truth claims should be held to any less rigorous standards of critical scrutiny and evidence than scientific claims.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

It may be just me, but Tobin comes across as someone who thinks the world revolves around him, so he will put on ignore someone who quotes and agrees with someone Tobin doesn't like and has on ignore. He is certainly one of the strangest posters I have known.

But it's the only way religious claims have a chance to compete in the marketplace of ideas? It's like the mercy rule in youth sports when one team is getting clobbered by another team. You have to change the rules to let the losing team score a couple points so they don't feel too bad.
