It's not really going to be a mystery what Kate Kelly "is". If she truly believes in the Church, she will want to be a member of it, and so she will do what she needs to be rebaptised (even if that requires her to swallow her pride and set aside the issue of women and the priesthood).

If she feels that she is right and the Church is wrong, then she won't.

It looks like she is choosing the latter in the short term, but that could change over time. Who knows?

Further to your OP, Sanctorian, I think it's wonderful that you still think exactly like a chapel Mormon even though you no longer are one.

She's attorney. She's smart. She knows words are power and she uses her words wisely,

yet it would not occur to you that by saying Thomas Monson is the president of the LDS Church, as opposed to saying he's the prophet of the entire world, she's smartly and wisely acknowledging that people who do not accept LDS truth claims are not obligated to accept the pronouncements (were he to ever make any) of a man they do not believe to be a prophet.

You mean like if Helmut Hubner were really a believing Mormon, he would have stopped opposing the Third Reich and not faced excommunication for defying the instructions of his church leaders?

Well, I attended church a month or two ago. They placed me in the gospel principles class with the ward mission leader. During the lesson, he said he knows Thomas Monson visits with Jesus regularly. "Just as we are conversing face to face today" were his words. There were about 12 members in the class and they all nodded in agreement. .

Well, now - this sounds like a very interesting ward.
