A Sanger man man, Raul Garcia, who reportedly threatened Mayor Joshua Mitchell and his family and the congregation of the Sanger Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was arrested Sunday in the county by sheriff's deputies, according to a police official.
Mitchell said when he learned of the threats he immediately moved his family to an undisclosed location in Fresno.
"The sheriff's office had heard about the threats from someone else and told me they were already looking for Garcia," Mitchell said.
Garcia who apparently blamed Mitchell for losing his job and being arrested allegedly told several people he was going to kill the mayor and his family and was, "going to the Mormon Church to shoot it up," according to Mitchell.
Sanger police kept a close eye on the church and were stationed along Bethel Avenue watching for Garcia's Dodge van, according to Captain Kent Matsuzaki.
Mitchell did not bring his family back to Sanger until he was told that deputies had apprehended Garcia.
The sheriff's office did not immediately respond to a Herald request for a comment on the investigation and arrest.

I make an end of my writing upon these plates, which writing has been small; and to the reader I bid farewell, hoping that many of my brethren may read my words. Brethren, adieu.

I wonder how many US mos bring their guns to church (since, you know, the only way to stop a bad man with a gun is a good guy with a gun).
Which reminds me... I really need to commission that portrait of Jesus totin' an AK-15 - the portrait he clearly intended.
Oh wait, I guess it's sort of been done.

God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Yep. I think the sermon on the mount was edited, too. "The meek shall inherit the earth... once all the non-meek shoot each other."
