Oh I get it! Christa....Christ. Very clever!

Read this to my man and he laughed his rear off. Said doesn't matter how religious he was, he wouldn't be able to tell that story with a straight face.

Perhaps Uchdorf didn't realize that this is an old, old story and metaphor because he is not originally from around here. He might have checked it out a bit more before he embarrassed himself.

I think "Jack and the Beanstalk" is a much better metaphor.

Jack sells his family's last asset (a cow) for 'magic' beans. His mom is so angry she throws them out the window. The beans sprout overnight and the stalk reaches up to heaven.

Jack climbs the stalk and meets a giant (and Heavenly Mother). The giant has a goose that lays golden eggs that he had stolen from Jack's father.

Jack takes back the goose and kills the giant by chopping down the beanstalk while the giant is pursuing him, becoming an apostate.

It's a great old story and as historically accurate as the Book of Mormon.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

So much for receiving a witness of the Book of Mormon the same day the Elders leave it with instructions to study three sets of verses and take the Moroni challenge. Uchdork has just thrown Parley P. Pratt and everyone else who received a burning in the bosom shortly after reading the Book of Mormon under the bus.

He's essentially shown the Church to be false.

Oh snap!!!
