Re: Why Was Spirit so Strong at Phony/Fraudulent LDS Baptism
Please send these debunkers to me. Where weight of evidence from The Apocalrock will grind them to powder.
The LDS were never made one and so we're never the Lord's and suffer in utter hypocrisy under the delusion of a false spirit. Such that when one comes among them truly born again of fire and of the Holy Ghost he is rejected and hated by one and all without exception. Even as he opens up scripture better than any man ever did in LDS history.
Joseph Smith taught about the power of a false spirit. Humans will always prefer their own invention and take it seriously because it is pleasing to the carnal mind, heart and soul just like the bond of fellowship shared by atheist who are in love with the idea that there is no God.

Thanks, Craig. I enjoy reading your thoughts.
Trimble, you ignorant sack of rhinoceros puss. The only thing more obvious than your lack of education is the foul stench that surrounds you.

Sorry bc space but you are full of it. Friends in Bountiful, Utah whe went through the Temple with Bro & Sis Jensen have told a number of us how strong the spirit was and what a beautiful couple they were.
Bruce Jensen and Felix Urioste - two MEN sealed in the Temple.
That old Holy Ghost doesn't know a boob from BS.

When I first read the OP I was questioning the motivations of these guys as I could never see myself doing something like this. But after listening to the podcast I see that they're really just professional skeptics and they tried to walk a fine line to be honest with the missionaries as they explored the faith but they did admittedly cross it at one point. That being said, I don't think they were really out to prove anything to anybody, they just wanted to experience the faith and speak to their audience about it. They did speak to the missionaries and come clean about everything and reconciled with them at the end, and to the missionaries credit, they were very forgiving and gracious. This is typical of Mormonism in my mind, great people, ridiculous faith. I found the part towards the end when one of the missionaries came clean about his lack of faith particularly interesting.

Obviously the mind is very powerful and can make some people have "spiritual experiences" in all types of situations. It's no different than the Stake President who felt inspired to call a certain man as the Stake Young Men's Leader...and after a few months it was discovered that he had been sexually abusing his step daughter who was under 10 years old. The abuse started long before the Stake President prayed about who he should call. True story, happened in one of the branches that I served in on my mission...
In the words of Russel Blackford:
"Feelings of transcendence are simply that—feelings—and, as such, have no capacity to reveal truths about a world external to the people who have them.”

Who. . . Bruce Jensen and Felix Urioste?

The "spirit" is just another version of a Ouija board. Everyone denies being the source of the movement when clearly they are.
Touched by the spirit... they're touched, all right.

God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
