Now that I have a certainty of things, the next few days, I will be on the ball again, doing everything I need to and to prepare, etc.
We even spent some time laughing together after with all of us together, with the boys.

God has finally answered my prayers..... Now comes the work, but joy also.
I know I'm not going to screw it up..... I hope she stays faithful in her intentions also.

Thanks for the positive thoughts and support..... It's nice to talk without it being about good and evil.

Well done Lee! As you say it is going to take work, and I hope you find some peace and joy in the process. I'm pulling for you, dude.

Well.....

You all know I don't generally speak ill of the Church, but it's all sadly gone to hell.
This time the Church screws us. They consider it "cohabitating", even though that's not the definition of the word.
Living as a Renter and Care Giver/Maid is not "cohabitating", yet the Church sad to say in their letter of the law phaseeical rules has just said I can't live with my family, if either of us want to maintain "worthiness".

Not only that, but I was devistated by the news, she instead of saying sorry about it and just talking about options, decided to go back to her old ways and belittle me, for being a "quiter" loser, she even went on a racist rant about American losers on Welfare, etc. All she had to do was offer some sympathy, talk about options, and despite the lose, likely would have been still okay, we would adapt. Instead, she destroy's, rather than builds as she always did.

So, it's over..... We have all lost, now not only because of her, but because of the Church in their not following the spirit of the law, placing "belief" first above my family and children.

Sad day...... Don't know what to do now with myself, it was just a shock. My Bishop is angry with me, because I wasn't happy about what he said, and I explained that it's not actually cohabitation, because if they meant something else instead of the actual meaning of the word, they would have said it, but they didn't. So, I don't know if it's really the church that's made this rule, or if many of it's leaders have been falsely interpreting it.

Story of my life..... there was hope and joy again, it was a wonderful evening Saturday, then it's destroyed.

Not going to comment on the legalistic church stuff. It's not my place and besides that, there are plenty here who are going to do it anyway.

I'll tell you what to do with yourself. You do everything you thought about doing the past few days or so (perhaps more) and you do it FOR yourself.

You do it to make yourself a better man.
You do it to discover and develop your God given talents and gifts.
You do it to contribute to society.
You do it to be an example to your boys.

No.

The only thing destroyed was your plan.

Remember the part of your story where you said you all got to laughing with the boys?

BUILD on that.

Build on that with the boys.

There is obviously something wrong with her, probably the PD that the therapist mentioned. Or she doesn't know what she really wants in life. Or she doesn't really know who she is.

That's not your problem.

Find out who YOU are (separate and apart from her) and then be it.

So here are is my question for you:

Who is the person I am talking to right now?

Missionaries cohabitate all the time. ...at the behest of the church.

I feel compelled to tell a story.

I was the administrator of a church owned school. The school itself was a community school, not a school with Christian curriculum. One of my unmarried staff members became pregnant. When the board of the school learned about this, one woman in particular expressed that she didn't think it would be appropriate for the school to employ an unwed staff member because of the "message" it would send about the church.

I looked her straight in the eye and said, "Our Savior was the child of an unwed mother".

Totally shut her down. Anyway, what ended up happening was that other staff members volunteered their time to provide free childcare in the church nursery (not part of the school) for the teacher's baby when he was born so that she could continue teaching and earn income.

So we essentially sent our own message.
:-D

So, according to what I see in scripture, there is reason to believe that Mary and Joseph cohabitated prior to marriage. Because Bethlehem.

LOL, that's actually a real good point. If missionary's can do it, there's no reason that someone that's technically family shouldn't be able to do it.
I tried to tell them that it's really big in other country's, where family and extended family all live under the same roof, and yet the church isn't going gastapo.
Some country's Maids/caregivers are popular, they also aren't denying membership benefits simply because such a person that might be opposite sex.

If I can get semi functional again, I'm going to likely finally write my first letter to the church on the 3 issues I want to address with them.
- Their shutting up political speech and activity's simply because they are primarily working for the church in some way, though not representing themselves in that capacity, and especially when it's the wives and not even the one actually working for the church.
- Their allowing members to abuse their covenents in relation to spouse, the throwing away of spouses and there be no consequences.
- Now this, that when there is no reasonable risk of "sin" nor the appearence of it, family's should not be kept apart if they are willing to work together, as long as lines are clear.

Ya, the appearence of evil should not be at the expense of doing the right thing, the following of the spirit of the law.
The church has it's rules, and in most things it's clearly able to follow the spirit not the letter, but this is clearly one thing that has fallen through the cracks.

The big thing, is they are completely contradicting the actual definition of the word, that is "cohabitate".
It requires a level of intimacy and closeness in the relation that is BEYOND Friendship, Renting, Caregiving, etc.
Yet, they are interpreting ANY sort of "partnership" in working for the household, eating together, using the same bathroom, caring for the kids is somehow "intimate" and "like being married". Which is utter bullSHIP!

I'm so angry..... God was blessing us, and then the Church screws us, and now she hates me again.
Thanks Church.....

Agreed. I would much sooner see a happy family regardless of the political or forum musings of its patriarch.

The only thing that I'd add is that when a family relationship needs healing, it is not very often that only one side needs to make one or more change/s. Please keep this in mind and heart, faqs.

I don't understand why she's angry with you on account of the Bishop's guidance?
