GRAMMAR LESSON #23: End punctuation

Please take a look at the following sentences:

Arggg...That's Who He is? A Des-News writer? He's so annoying

(Ignoring the fact that the words "who" and "he" shouldn't've been capitalized,) every sentence needs to have some form of punctuation at the end. The rule is that if it doesn't end with an exclamation point or a question mark, it must end with a period. Yes, MormonDiscussions.com participants, even the last sentence within a post must end with end punctuation; when in doubt, use a period.

Therefore, the above-quoted sentence should've been written:

Arggg...That's who he is? A Deseret News writer? He's so annoying.

Now go thou and ALWAYS put some sort of punctuation at the end of all of your sentences. Yes, even the sentences that are the last ones of your posts. Use a period of you're unsure.

I have found that on occasion, when I am tired or in a hurry, I unintentionally leave off a punctuation mark at the end of the last sentence in a post. I usually catch it later and go back and edit the post to correct that omission. I suppose that can sometimes happen to other posters as well. If you ever catch me having left off a proper punctuation mark at the end of a sentence before I have caught and corrected it myself, please be assured that I know better. The same may apply to others guilty of that omission.

Sometimes I intentionally will comment with a couple words and leave out capitalization and punctuation. Occasionally, that is how I want my comment to look.

These days, I'm guilty of a multitude of sins. I'm using a tablet more often and I find typing on it a pain. I'm reduced to "hunt and peck" and it has an evil autocorrect that trips me up continuously.

I have to preview even the shortest post before I submit it.

Please take a look at the following sentence:

I prefer to leave the heavy lifting around here to those that think it matters.

Remember, "who" is used for people, whereas "that" is used for non-humans. Therefore, the quoted sentence should've been written:

I prefer to leave the heavy lifting around here to those who think it matters.

I have a grammar question.

When you use all capital letters for a word, does it change the meaning of that particular word?

BIGOT?
LIAR?
IGNORANT?
STUPID?

I have another one.

When you use an apostrophe s for a word that ends in a "s" - what is the correct way to write that?

I am asking because the OP title of this thread ("Shades's") looks odd to me - probably right though, eh?

So let's take a word that ends in a "s"

Jesus

How would you write a possession of Jesus?

Jesus's robe? (That looks wrong - but probably correct?)

What about the plural of Jesus?

There are seven Jesus's in our class (That can't be right because it's the same as the possession - yes/no?)

The more I think about this - the more confused I am getting

Because the possession of church is "church's" yes?

It is the church's tree?

But for the plural it becomes churches - right?
We add "es"

HELP!!!!!!!!!
