To anyone who disagrees that I should link to snippets. I did it because that is what K wants, and I don't give a flying “F” about those who think they are doing what's best for her. She wants it out there. She wants it known. It's her life, and her story. She's an adult and she knows what is best for her. Not you.

If however under the rules of the board, Shades would like me to delete her name, then I will.

As for the highlighted portion of the snippet, it indicates what was happening visually, something which appears to have been played down by the police interviewer, as indicated by her later telephone interview with Micklesen.
Personally, it's the Micklesen interview I have the biggest problem with.

Okaaay. I have dotted the name in the snippet. Not because I agree with Jersey Girl or Rosebud for that matter. I don't. But I would hate for this to became an issue over and above the centrality of the topic, which is all about how the daughter's case was handled and whether church policies and procedures are adequate.

Response from Ron to my question to him this morning about using his daughter's name.

Thank you for your concern Mary; this last "push" on my part was made at her request. (She wanted to do a blog for other victims, to clear her name, etc.). She is actively reading these posts, and quite satisfied in the fact that her name is being cleared while her grandfather is still alive to see it.

The ONLY reason her name is all over the public record in the first place is because of his accusations against her when she was six. Had he not made those accusations against her in the first place; and, had she not stepped forward after putting the pieces together, this story would have gone the way of the many Catholic sagas.

Mickelsen attempted to put the culpability of this on her (and on her name), casting her as the "promiscuous" one. Her name was tainted through his actions alone. And now, thus far, about 50,000 people have read and/or seen on whose shoulder this perverse saga rightfully rests. She has no shame in this, and therefore happy to see her name being cleared, mainly for her extended family members to see--they who ostracized her simply because her statements aligned with his accusations of her.

May Elder Lynn A. Mickelsen's name be had for ill, unless and until he can grow a back bone sufficient enough to step up and account for these actions and his role in this mess. Until then, as the original accuser and as the adult in this "child-adult" transaction, his continued silence condemns him, as well as the LDS church for whom he is "an Authority". It's THAT simple.

Thanks again for your concern Mary. Feel free to quote me and/or share this. [I am really looking forward to the question and answer phase of this.]

I've pretty much lost interest in this issue. However, did she issue a statement giving her father full permission to go public with her abuse, or is this filtered through Mr. Karren?

Doc. I have said my piece. Feel free to disagree and if you are really concerned maybe encourage her to start her blog. I just worked out who Rosebud is. Slow catching up.

In terms of the daughter's privacy - none of us know her married name.

You give Karren your easy trust because you share former Mormonism with him. I do not.

Rosebud, I believe this to be a direct quote from you.

self-identifies as a former Mormon who no longer believes in Mormonism and who views Mormonism as her cultural heritage

So, what the flippin heck are you talking about?

Cam,

So far as I can tell the permission is something that has been filtered through the father. That is to say, the father says he has her full permission, but I haven't seen any written statement from the daughter to that end.

Further, so far as I can tell, the daughter (now adult) is remaining anonymous which renders Mary's advice to "take it up with the father and daughter", moot/impossible/ridiculous.
