Lysenkoism (Russian: Лысе́нковщина) was a political campaign against genetics and science-based agriculture

That if you put your faith in science you'll be disappointed.
Lysenko was disproved and discredited by better science, so there is no disappointment in science's involvement here...if you understand how science works. I think you may lack clarity on the distinctions between science and religion.

In fact, there is probably no methodology for examining the universe that is less reliable than revealed religion, with the possible example of Franktalk's "inner Journey", if one wants to regard that as something essentially different from "revealed religion", which I personally don't think is warranted.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Lysenkoism was not science, it was pseudoscience masquerading as science. Central to Lysenkoism was denial of the firmly established science of genetics. Lysenkoism flourished in Russia because it upheld Stalin's beliefs about genetics. Conclusions about genetics from mainstream science were banned.
So putting one's faith in science was not the error of Lysenkoism. Putting one's faith in something other than science was the error of Lysenkoism. The same thing happens when you put your faith in LDS theology. Your science gets corrupted and becomes something other than science, LDSysenkoism.

How is that claim any different than LDS Articles of Faith #9? We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

One is backed by evidence and the other is not. One deals with the experiences we can all agree on the other does not. One can be rechecked by anyone the other cannot. One depends on a conduit/prophet the other does not. One depends upon arbitrary tests of your faith in the conduit/prophet such as giving him whatever he wants, lands, wives, daughters the other does not. One is contradicted by facts and evidences we have gathered the other makes sensible conclusions based upon those very same set of facts and evidences. One starts with the conclusion and twists the evidence to fit the conclusion while the other starts with the evidence and fits the conclusion to the evidence.

There was evidence for Lysenkoism, a solid state universe, even a geocentric one. IE; Newton was right up to a point. The after that he was in the same position as any one else.
As I demonstrated the LDS are open to changes in religion. We have a long history of accepting science.
