The madness continues...

Many modern day teenagers think of spending their summer vacation Snapchatting at the beach, posting selfies and hanging out with their friends. The youth of the Sarasota Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints decided to go against the standard for four days in June.

To commemorate the 19th century Latter Day-Saint pioneers’ exodus from the Midwestern states to the Utah Valley from 1847 till 1869, the LDS youth dressed in 1800s period clothing and pulled handcarts for over 15 miles at the Deseret Ranch near Orlando from June 22 to 25.

“When we are confronted with evidence that challenges our deeply held beliefs we are more likely to reframe the evidence than we are to alter our beliefs. We simply invent new reasons, new justifications, new explanations. Sometimes we ignore the evidence altogether.” (Mathew Syed 'Black Box Thinking')
