Ok. From SS's link this will definitely happen:

Being formally accused of unlawful activity, committing a crime.

and it gets this far:

1. Justice Department or an independent council investigates charges & presents them to the House Judiciary Committee

2. House Judiciary Committee (HJC) reviews evidence

3. HJC drafts Articles of Impeachment

4. HJC debates Articles of Impeachment <- Full Stop

I thought the GOP might give President Trump a glorious title and enshrine him in the Money Loving Hall of Fame and Conservatism. The title "Great Communicator" is taken, so perhaps they will go with the "Great Masquerader".

I think it's safe to assume that unless he really starts causing problems for the republicans, nothing will happen, even if it should, until after republicans lose control of congress. Then Democrats will need time to work on it. I'll bet on November 2019.

Yeah, but he works his ass off.

While he seems particularly dedicated to outsourcing aspects of his job more than previous presidents, it's still a notoriously stressful position to be in. I'm thinking there's a not insignificant chance he doesn't live through the next 4 years. If that's in the pool, I'm back in.

I think you're right about the stress and the possibility of him not living out his term. I don't feel compelled to bet on a guy's life though.

It's going to be an unbelievably shocking development if Republicans lose Congress before 2022. Their gerrymandering advantages are such that they'd have to lose a crushing national landslide just for Democrats to break even. And that's before we get more voter suppression policies that everyone knows are coming.

Some Schmo wrote:It seems to me the question isn't whether Drumpf will be impeached, but when. The GOP has to be strategic about it, however. They can't do it right away because of Drumpf's base. He'll have to do something first that is an appealing choice for impeachment, to get the base on the GOP's side to do it.

So it's a bit of a guessing game. I figure it makes for a good betting pool opportunity. Here's what I propose; since it's not likely anyone will pick the exact day it happens, we won't make it that narrow. We all have a good shot at naming the month, however. So, if we say you can choose any month in his four year term, that gives us 48 electoral months from which to choose. An electoral month goes from the 20th of one month to the 19th of the next (e. g. month 1 goes from Jan 20 to Feb 19, 2017).

So, to make an entry into this pool, just state a number between 1 and 48. Pick your number early, because once chosen, it's out of the pool.

You can also declare you won't be playing by saying you don't think he'll be impeached at all. Although you can't win, your declaration will be noted for the annals of Spirit Paradise.

And the prize? I dunno... bragging rights? The joy of having predicted the approximate time of Drumpf's demise as President? The ultimate title of Prince/Princess Impeachment (slight nod to Mario there)? I know that no matter who wins, if Drumpf is expelled early, everyone wins... but this might be a fun side game anyway.

I'll start it off by choosing month 22 (Oct 20, 2018 - Nov 19, 2018). It seems a bit risky to choose the month of the midterms, but I like living on the edge.

Hey Schmo

I'll make a bet with you that he will not be impeached within your pick...month 22. The wager I offer is that the winner gets to choose a new name and avatar for the other for one year?

I'll even round it off within the first 24 months...?

It will be fun, I lost my rear this year in fantasy football so I need a comeback :)

Well, I'm thinking if they repeal ACA without any replacement, all hell is going to break lose. Lots of Trump voters actually depend on ACA. If they are careful with that, and Trump doesn't cause a war because of an idiotic 3 am tweet, you're probably right and we're stuck.

He said in an interview that he would repeal and replace at the same time.

I fervently hope you are eventually proven wrong about that!
