I'd agree with you if I thought Drumpf was a true Republican. We've already seen how he's not afraid to disagree with his own party publicly.
He'll either reshape the party or be impeached. I don't see any alternatives, other than the GOP collapsing.
I heard an old radio interview with Mitch McConnell from last summer. The radio host was one of those quaint conservatives that believed in balanced budgets, and he pushed McConnell on why he didn't fix Social Security and Medicare when the Republicans had control. McConnell's response was telling. He said that if the Republicans made responsible fixes to those programs without full bipartisan support, then the Republicans would lose power in the next election. Thus, even when they had control of all three branches of government, they were still powerless to do the right thing.
McConnell's answers were telling--it has nothing to do with the Republican agenda. It's all about maintaining and increasing his own power.
So where does this power come from? Of course from the Republican voter base, which has now become completely untethered from both the party's historical values and from reality. The monster has broken free from the control of the masterminds that create it. That being the case, I don't know how we can forecast what's going to happen. Trump has proven over and over that the old rules don't apply to him. Until he does something so outrageous that the A.M. talk radio hosts line up screaming against him, he is going to act with impunity.

I have a sinking feeling that there is virtually nothing Trump can do that is so terrible that even the A.M. talk radio hosts like Limbaugh will not try to excuse it.

Welcome to the new normal. When you want to overturn the results of an election you disagree with you impeach the president. All presidents who lose control of the House will be impeached. If they lose control of the senate as well, they'll be removed.

Since we know Russians interfered in our election, we know it was illegitimate.
Trump's impeachment is entirely justified. He's done several things to deserve impeachment; them Democrats finally picked one.
But since victim-hood is the primary attribute of the Trumptard party, this idiotic, whiny narrative (the Democrats always wanted to impeach; therefore Trump's innocent) is prevalent in GOP circles.
