Senior members of Congress aren't able to get through where? Calls to the White House?

Members of Congress, including some heavyweights, were unable to persuade CBP to follow the court order or get any sort of explanation for why it isn't being followed.

a bunch of congressmen berate the crap out of a policeman who tells them over and over that he has passed the order on, and will, with permission, take the congressmen into the secure area. the cop never loses his cool. he puts up with all their crap. and what is the salutation from the congressmen? "i want them to know that i am going to be a pain in their ass."

and this is evidence of a constitutional crisis? EA, you really jumped it on this one.

i am baffled. i mean baffled beyond any amount of creative resources here. how can you not see that this is playing directly into Trump's hands and to his favor? it was not enough for a bunch of citizens to throw a tantrum based on what they saw on cnn, now these jackass congressmen are doing it too? oh my lord.

what evidence is there that Trump is in contempt? that video is not evidence of anything other than a bunch of congressmen trying to get on tv and acting like idiots. is there evidence that a detainee was being held, in contempt of the order, without a lawyer, and that this policeman for the municipality was complicit in that detainment? and so was Trump?

if at the end of 90 days Trump does nothing more than to reinstate everything exactly as it was he would still be the winner on this. if he gets something more for his base, but it is less than a permanent ban, he still comes out ahead.

that cop is certainly not getting fired, dude held the line against some lunatics. can you imagine if he had said, oh, holy gosh, you guys are congressmen? oh my heck. okay sirs, let me just abandon this post here and i will rush you back right now, you all are important as crap. i will just assume that these congressmen knew that the cop was not that stupid and assumed that people viewing the video were.

The court order dictates lawyer access to the detainees. The policeman in question refuses to comply with the order or answer why he won't. CBP in a secondary call refuses as well. No permission ever comes. They are simply ignoring orders from the federal judiciary.

Court orders must be obeyed by CBP ME. They're in contempt. If that is coming from the White House, the White House is flagrantly ignoring the rule of law. If a motion for contempt is upheld (which it should be given how clearly non-compliant CBP is) and marshals are ordered to serve the order, but do not, that's when a Constitutional crisis will be happening.

The article is unclear. it says that Attorneys were denied access to detainees. Were these attorneys that represented the detainees, or just people that saw this on the news and were trying to get access to the detainees? maybe it does not matter. But were attorneys denied access to clients (meaning detainees were denied their attorney), or were ambulance chasers denied access to ambulances? are you suggesting that this cop was in contempt for not letting any barred attorney and any congressmen from getting past that point?

are all those congressmen that were pitching that shitfit also attorneys with clients being detained? or were they just congressmen being, per that fella's personal description, a pain in the ass?

so, every detained person was released in the united states, correct? none of those were sent back to their hell?

and those that arrived AFTER the video was made and after this moment, they had to have boarded a plane AFTER the executive order, correct? at this point, all those affected by in-transit situations have a resolution? any that arrive now would have boarded a plane knowing that there was a potential conflict, is that fair?
